Cruise Party 2008
Cruise Party 2008 was awesome. Our redeye flight to Puerto Rico was not so much fun, we just wanted to sleep but it is so hard to get comfortable in those tiny coach seats plus the lady in front of us had her light on for most of the flight and the captain kept coming over the intercom to give us updates, seriously when it is 3 AM I don't care what altitude we are at. We got on the ship Sunday afternoon and set sail for St. Thomas that evening. Jenn's sister had lived in St. Thomas so she told us to go to Saphire beach. It was so gorgeous, white sand, crystal blue water, islands in the back ground, good snorkeling we could not ask for anything better.
On Tuesday we arrived in Dominca, it was so green there, we headed up the mountain to ride the Wacky Rollers. This was one of my favorite activities because we were laughing the entire time. We rode tubes down the river and I swear everytime I looked back Colin was falling off of his tube. At one point Paul and I were headed towards the shore with lots of trees hanging over Seth thought it would be funny to push Paul into the trees but instead the push flung me into the trees and scraped my arm up (but no hard feelings). On Wednesday we arrived in Barbados we hopped in a cab to take us to swim with the sea turtles. The cab driver was interesting he would not stop talking. Kara asked if he knew Rhiana and he said he did, he pointed out her neighborhood (he may of just been making it all up) told us about her friends and mom. He also told us they call her Rhee Rhee I didn't believe it at first until we were at a store in Barbados and there was a sign advertising a concert for Rhee Rhee, I guess the cab driver was telling us the truth. Anyways we got on a boat that took us snorkeling with sea turtles and to see a shipwreck. It was pretty cool, and we saw a shark, well not really but it was a giant fish that looked just like a shark.
On Thursday we landed in St. Lucia, oh this place was gorgeous. So green and beautiful. We took a tram up the mountain and then ziplined down, it was so cool. When we were riding the tram up it was so quiet all you could hear were the animals and birds, so peaceful and relaxing. Our tour guides in St. Lucia were very nice and friendly.
On Friday we were in Antigua, we went to the beach that day and did some snorkeling, we swam through this area of about a billion white fish, everywhere you looked there were fish and all the same color. Antigue was pretty flat and dry not like St. Lucia at all, but still very beautiful.
On Friday we went to St. Kitts and again had a beach day, St. Kitts had black sand beaches and an awesome trampoline to play on. I applied sunscreen about every hour that day because I did not want to burn on the last day but for some reason I came back fried, my back and stomach were so sore.
Some hightlights of our trip were the speed walking contest down the ships halls, boy could Paul get his hips going. I got my life jacked stuck on my head during the muster drill, for a minute there I began to panick but finally got it off. Karaoking on the last night, Kara and Jenn got everyone going and Paul ended the night with an awesome rendition of "Milkshake" ( I will try to get the video uploaded)
I will also try to get the video of "The General" singing Stroke It. This mid 50's guy who was on the cruise all by himself sang this song we had never heard of, he looked like such a nerd, I would have never imagined him singing the song "Stroke It".
Each night at dinner our table would order quite a bit of food but our server always thought we needed more so she would bring us any extra food she had plus chocolate cake for everyone. We were considered the garbage disposal table. We had a great time on the cruise and hope we can do it again in the future.

What we have been up to
Wow it has been forever since I have posted. We have been really busy lately. I will quickly give a rundown of what we have been up to lately and then post a slide show of pictures. Paul, me and my parents went down to Las Vegas to find a house, it was quite frustrating to me at first but we finally ended up finding a house we really like, it is close to Paul's school, is in a gated community and has a swimming pool and play ground. I really wanted a place with grass so Leila could play outside but watering in Vegas is really expensive so we were trying to find something with desert landscaping, what we found has a mixture of both, it has a tiny patch of grass and the rest in desert. Our house has four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths I am super excited to have a place that is more roomy. We have attended a lot of Jordan high soccer games my brother plays on the team. We are super proud of him, he is an excellent player and so talented, Jordan ended up getting eliminated from the state finals but they had an excellent season. My sister Leslie was accepted into the U of U nursing program, which is very difficult to get into, she is so smart, she is living my dream of becoming a nurse, maybe one day I will make it back to school to get my nursing degree. My other sister Erin and her husband just bought a new home and have been spending tons of hours trying to get the house and yard the way they want it. Leila had her 15 month apointment at the beginning of May, she is a whopping 17 lbs 13 oz. and 28 1/2 inched tall right about the 3rd percentile. Yes we have a tiny daughter whatever she eats is just burned off by her constant moving. She is so busy and has to do every thing herself. She is learning new words everyday, it is so much fun. Paul and I both quit our jobs. We have PTO for the next month and a half. I now get to be a stay at home mom while Paul is in medical school. I am so excited to be able to be home with her and it is nice right now because Paul and I both are at home. Paul and I just returned from an awesome vacation in the southern carribean with several of our good friends, I will do another post later with pictures and all of our activities.
