Visitors

Last weekend Paul's Aunt Marilyn, cousin Nannette and her family and cousin Chad stopped to stay with us on their way to Disneyland.  It was a house full but so much fun.  Nan has four boys age 2 1/2-10 who are wild but such great kids.  I decided I need a 10 year old, Brighton (Nan's oldest) is just the best, he pays tons of attention to Leila and she just loves it.  Brighton rode with us in our car to the park and out to dinner and it was so nice because he would buckle and unbuckle her each time we went in the car, keep track of her, sit by her at dinner, keep her entertained and help with her dinner.  We took them to the new park and had so much fun then out to dinner at Metro Pizza.  I wish we could have gone on to Disneyland with them, that would have been so much fun.  We are excited they are coming back tonight to stay with us again on their way back to Utah.  I can't wait to hear all about their fun trip and hopefully get some better pictures.

Dance Class

Leila started her dance class a couple of weeks ago and I mentioned in a past entry that she struggled the first time and was really nervous but she has done so much better since then.  She likes to be right next to the teacher if she can wiggle in between the other girls.  It's fun to watch her because she is concentrating so hard and is so focused on trying to do what the teacher (Miss Jenny) does, she barely even looks at me.  This dance thing hasn't come quite as easily as the tumbling thing, she's a natural at that.  I really like this class for her because they use lots of fun props to work on their dance skills but Miss Jenny is also having them work on coordination and balance.  Leila tells me her favorite part is tap time because she gets to make loud noises and where high heals (she thinks the tap shoes are high heals).

Greydon kicked his legs up on the stroller and sat back and watched the dance class, he is such a good boy!

p.s. you can pick Leila out by her bright pink skirt or by looking for the girl who is like a head shorter then all the other girls:)

Happy Morning!

Wouldn't you like to wake up to a face like this, I sure enjoy it, it puts a smile on my face!

On a side note, Greydon has cut his first tooth, it is his bottom front tooth and the other one is working on coming in too, probably by tomorrow!

Museum

On Thursday we went to the Las Vegas children's museum with Rylee, Ryder, Peyton, Rylee's sister and niece, Kristine, Curtis, Alesia and Micah   It has been over a year since I was last there and they have made a ton of changes.  It is so much better then it use to be last time we were there, it was not set up very well and tons of things were broken.  They have fixed almost everything and added several new things.  Leila's favorite is still to play in the store and pretend grocery shop.

take me out to the ball game

Right before I went to Utah Paul and I went to the LasVegas 51's baseball game.  Paul's school is a sponsor of the team and was giving away tickets to the students.  We were going to take Leila and Greydon but my mom ended up being in town so we decided to leave them home with her.  It was fun being able to have a night out with Paul.

SLC 1/2 Marathon

Back in January me and two of my friends, Rylee and Allyson decided to run the Salt Lake City half marathon.  We began training at the beginning of February and at first we were running 4 days a week but after a while we cut it down to 3 days a week.  We usually ran at 6 am unless we had a really long run then we would start earlier.  It was really fun training with these girls and have someone to keep me going when I felt like quiting.

Me, Rylee and Allyson at the starting line
We waited forever at the starting line to use the bathrooms but I am sure glad we did because the line for the potties at each aid station was super long.
Running the last .1 miles.  I got an adrenaline rush right at the end and just felt like I needed to sprint to the end.  I had kind of hit a wall between 10 and 11 miles about where we turned onto state street, my body hurt, my legs were dead, I had a stomach cramp, it was hot and we were running up hill which I wasn't expecting.  We usually talk the entire time we are running but I think we said only a couple of words to each other durning that last two miles.  I think all of our concentration was on just finishing the race and keeping our bodies moving, well at least that was where my concentration was.
Yay! We finished the race, that was our main goal just to finish and run the whole thing.  I was also hoping we would stay right about 10 minute miles which we did we ran 10:30  miles, our time was right aroudn 2 hours 17 minutes

Some of my other friends Rachele and Melanie that were also running the race

My awesome husband came into town just to see me run, he was also great the night before to help with the kids and get up with them during the night so I could get some sleep.  My mom was also wonderful at helping get the kids ready and down to the race.
My mother-in-law also came to support me and help take care of Greydon, and look she even got him to sleep!
I loved seeing my family at the end and to finally finish the race.  I loved doing the half marathon, I think it is the perfect length, its not too challenging or time consuming but still something I have to work at.

Last week I took the kids to Utah so I could run in the Salt Lake Half Marathon.  I was a little worried about driving there all by myself and I guess my mom was too because she bought a plane ticket and flew to Nevada just so she could drive up with me.  And it ended up being so great having her there, she helped me get all packed up and then it was so nice to have someone help me with the kids on the drive so thank you mom!  We spent most of the time visiting with family.  We got there Tuesday night and stopped and picked up our new car in Orem from Paul's uncle (he found the car for us).

We bought a Honda Pilot and I absolutley love it!
And then spent the evening hanging out with my parents and siblings.
*On Wednesday I did my last run before the half marathon, took my accord into the car shop to get the door fixed, hung out with my sister and nephew, had dinner with my parents and the missionaries and then went to visit my mother-in-law where we set up her trampoline.
*On Thursday we played in my parents backyard and then we went up to Midway to visit my parents new house, we had lunch there and played with toys.  When we got home we went to my mother-in-laws house and played on the tramp, when to the park, rode bikes and played with the jeeps.  We went to chick-fil-a for dinner with Connie, Heather, Tamari and Mylee and then played some more outside.
I love that it caught the drool dripping from his face.  Also if you look in the background you can see several of the hotwheel jeeps.  Paul's mom has two jeeps and a fourwheeler, the grandkids love driving around in them!

*On Friday we went to Discovery children's museum with my long time best friend Ashley, her boys, Connie, my mom, sister Erin and nephew Logan.  Leila loves the museum and could spend all day there, which we pretty much did.

She lined up all of her food on the conveyer belt and then turned the belt until all the food had fallen into her cart, she did this over and over again

I had been carrying Greydon in the front pack but he is so heavy so my mom gave me a break

Leila hiding in a locker

Ashley and I, it had been several months since I had seen her so it was so fun to get together and finally meet her little guy ( he was born several weeks after Greydon)

Greydon right after he woke up from his nap.  He looks like he is being tortured but he has to be swaddled
or else he won't sleep and then he was buckled into the stroller.  But he didn't seem to mind he took a two hour nap and then woke up smiling
Greydon getting in on some of the museum action!

That night I ate lots of pasta and picked Paul up from the airport, he flew up just to support me running my half marathon! On Saturday I ran my half marathon and then  we ran errands, visited Paul's mom and then hung out with my parents.  We got up early Sunday and headed home, we left early so we could make it home in time for our special stake meeting with Elder Perry.  It was a wonderful meeting and I am so glad we made it home for it the only hard part was dealing with cranky children who were tired and sick of traveling, Paul and I both spent a bunch of the meeting in the hall dealing with kids.
Just a cute picture of my favorite boy!
