While I was cleaning one day Leila decided to cover much of my bedroom in stickers

I love watching him trying to figure out how to use his hands and try to grab things

Sad Face

Isn't that the saddest face :(
We went to the park last week (well we pretty much go to the park everyday) but this incident happended last week.  Leila decided to climb up on the stroller and then fell off and hit her head.  She scraped a thin layer of skin off, but it didn't even bleed it was just a really big scrape.  So we ran home and bandaged her up and got an ice pack.  She wanted to go back so she could play with Ryder.  She carried that ice pack around the whole park with her and acting so sad but she didn't want to leave, I think she liked getting sympathy from everyone.

So Tired

We decided to cut out Leila's nap because she was having a hard time going to bed at night and it didn't matter what time I was putting her to bed she was still getting up at 7.  She was not ready for a nap at 1 or 2 but usually around 4 or 5, well that was too close to bed time so naps are gone now.  On days we have been really busy this is what I will find.  She just can't keep her eyes open.
Crashed out on our bed, she doesn't look very comfortable but she was out cold

I tried several times to wake her up when she fell asleep on the chair.  I even moved her to the kitchen to eat her sandwich and she almost fell of the chair, she just couldn't keep her eyes open

She was laying next to Greydon on the playmat and just crashed.  I also tried several times to wake her up this time but she wasn't having any of it, I sat her up and told her we were going to the park, she replied, "I'm so tired I just want to sleep" then rolled over and fell back to sleep.

Picnic

Last week we had the most beautiful weather.  I am not kidding when I say we spent everyday last week outside for 3+ hours.  And yes Leila is wearing shorts, I would have been in shorts to but my legs are so white.  On Monday the Hadlocks invited us over for a picnic.  We sat out on the big grassy area in front of their house and ate and played for hours.  So much fun!

Leila and Ryder riding their bikes.  I was shocked at how good Leila has become on her bike, just a couple of weeks ago she could pedal but still struggled with steering.  Well when we went out on Monday it was like it all clicked, she figured out how to steer and pedal at the same time.
Greydon taking a wonderful nap while we ate

At this moment Leila told Ryder she was not talking to him and being the cute boy that he is, he is repeatedly asking, "are you happy".  This conversation happens about everytime they play together.  He is learning early on how to deal with girl's mood swings

I think someone is ready for summer to be here!

Trying to fly a kite.  When she did it by herself it never took flight it pretty much bounced around on the ground behind here as she ran around the entire yard

Awake and enjoying the beautiful weather

Chubby Cheeks!

I love this little guy and I can't believe how big he is getting (he weighed 15lbs 12oz at his dr appt on Friday).  I had to get some pictures of his chubby little tummy and thighs. He is seriously getting so heavy it is killing my arms and back to carry him around but I do love all his rolls!

                                                             You gotta love that face!

laundry

The laundry situation in our house has gotten a little ridiculous!

I despise folding and putting laundry away but usually don't let it get this bad

3 months old

Our Grady bug is 3 months old and the time has gone so fast, it feels like just yesterday we were at the hospital having him. He is such a joy in our home! Some of the things Greydon is doing:
-Becoming a big, chubby chunk, he weighs 14 lbs 12 oz, his thighs are so chubby
-Eating like a champ, still wants to eat as soon as he wakes up every three hours. He eats at 5:30, 8:30, 11:30, 2:30, 5:30, 8:30, then between 10 and eleven. I have been messing with his night schedule trying to figure out what will work best so that I can go running at 6 am, so we may be adjusting this schedule some more.
-He sleeps, eats, plays for a bit and then back to sleep
-Hates to be swaddled but won't sleep well unless he is wrapped up tight
-Loves his binky but has the hardest time keeping it in his mouth
-Discovered his hands, loves to look at them and loves to suck both of them at the same time
-loves looking at himself in the mirror
-he is growing out of all of his clothes, wears mostly 3-6 month size but can even fit into 6-9 month clothes -super smiley unless his sister is giving him way too much love
-still prefers to turn his head to the right but we are working on it, after his last treatment he will now turn to the left on his own
-loves the bath, well doesn't freak out and gives us smiles
-has a triple chin, he has so many rolls in his neck it is hard to tell how many he actually has
-doesn't want to be propped up, would rather lay flat or be sitting. Loves to cuddle on my shoulder
-keeps getting cuter and cuter

Visit from Grandma

Paul's mom Connie and our niece Mari came to visit over the weekend. On Friday Leila, Mari and Connie went to the park and spent about 3 hours there playing and running around. Leila had so much fun. On Friday evening we went out to dinner at Red Robbins and then out for ice cream at Yogurtland. Leila also opened her presents from her Grandma, aunt Ariane and aunt Heather and Uncle Sean. She got and art center and lots of art supplies, clothes, books, games, a swim suit and polly pockets. She loved everything! The girls played dress up, tea party, Barbie's, polly pockets and bounced on the horse. The girls got along pretty well, they would fight for a little bit and then be so good. It was so fun to have them visit, we wished they could have stayed longer!

They both dressed up as ballerina's and covered their face in makeup

Lots of sewing

The pediatric club at Paul's school was doing a fundraiser and needed volunteers to help cut out, sew and stuff little hearts. The wives were quickly volunteered to sew since we were pretty much the only ones with sewing machines. It was fun to get together with friends, have a chance to actually use my machine and do some service.

The whole group

On Friday a bunch of the medical student's wives got together to sew heart garlands for decorations for our houses, there was suppose to be a bunch more girls but all of their kids were sick so it ended up just being 4 of us. We had a great time chatting and making our decorations, I didn't get my done yet because I decided to change colors and needed to go to the store and get more felt.

Our 3 year old

An update on Leila now that she is 3 years old

  • I don't have her exact state but she weight between 27 and 27 lbs ans is about 33 1/2 inches tall, she is super tiny
  • Leila has quite the strong-willed personality, she wants to do everything on her own and have a say in everything we do. Leila and I butt heads quite ofter
  • Leila has a difficult time making decisions, it takes her forever to pick out her clothes or pretty much anything that she is trying to pick
  • She loves Dora, Mickey Mouse clubhouse, and Barney
  • She loves Polly pockets, anything Disney princess and barbies
  • She is obsessed with playing games and doing puzzles, we play a game every night before bed
  • She still loves books, right now she loves the Oops book, her Big Sister book, any Dr. Seuss books and any books with the ABC's
  • She loves to sing, she is constantly singing and making up songs
  • Loves chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, tomato soup, ravioli's, mint Oreo ice cream, and oreos
  • She is the biggest staller when it comes to going to bed sometimes it takes us over an hour to finally get her to bed
  • Leila's past routine has been to go to bed at 9 and then wake up between 8 and 9, but she has started to wake up between 6 and 7 no matter what time we put her to bed so we have started to put her to bed at 7
  • She still takes a 2-3 hour afternoon nap but I see naps ending soon, she totally fights me on naps no but if she doesn't have it she is a very ornery girl
  • hates wearing jeans, only wants to wear skirts, leggings or dresses
  • dislikes wearing shoes or tights unless they are her high heeled dress up shoes
  • does not like having her hair done, we are lucky if she lets me brush it
  • is such a mommy's girl, if I leave a room she is immediately looking for me
  • loves to help do laundry, clean bathrooms, and do the dishes but hates cleaning up her room or her toys
  • She has to pick out Greydon's clothes and gets very upset if I put him in something that she did not pick
  • Loves to steal Greydon's blankets and binky's
  • Loves to jump on things and off of things
  • Hates getting in her care seat, we spend a good couple of minutes trying to get her in her seat
  • Is in love with her friend Ryder, they act like a little married couple when they are together
  • has a really hard time sharing
  • loves going to preschool
  • loves to whisper "I love you" in my ear

Leila is definitely one determined, strong-willed, and busy little girl but we love her and love watching her learn and grow everyday

Pictures

Just some random pictures from our week Leila and Greydon in my jogging stroller that I found on Craigslist. They loved riding in it while I ran
Greydon sleeping so peacefully, I love when he just crashes out without having to be swaddled or need a binky
Leila helping me build a new shelf for all of her toys
Playing parade with balloons

Leila's Birthday Party

Leila's 3rd Birthday Party on Tuesday February 2nd!
Playing Snow White with Ryder except Ryder was Snow white and Leila was the prince
Cute birthday girl really excited for her party
Opening presents, she would not look at the camera while opening presents Some of the guests, this was not even close to everyone
Looking terrified while everyone was singing to her, I don't think she liked all the attention
Leila and her cake
We love our silly girl, you need to stop growing up so fast!
We celebrated Leila's birthday with a whole bunch of friends. I spent like two days trying to make Leila's birthday cake and cupcakes. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself as long as you don't look too close. Leila was so excited about her cake, when it was done she said, "mom I love my cake, you did such a good job" which melted my heart because I had spent so much energy on it and it was nice to have her appreciate it. She was so excited once her friends started arriving. When we sang Happy Birthday to her she looked like she was going to cry, I think she was a little overwhelmed with so many people singing to her and watching her. After cake she opened presents from Paul and I and from my parents. She got clothes, Barbie's and Barbie clothes, Polly Pockets, games, a puzzle, and a bouncy horse.
