The Big 2!

Our little baby is now a big girl, two years really goes by fast. Leila is such a joy and we are so happy she is part of our family. Leila is a very busy and curious little girl. She also has a very stubborn personality and likes things done a particular way. She is very independent child, she has to do everything on her own from picking out her clothes and dressing herself to pouring her own cereal and milk. She is also very sweet and loves to help me and give us lots of hugs and kisses. Leila is talking up a storm and loves repeating what I say to her. Leila loves her baby dolls, books, stickers, chap stick, dress ups, coloring, painting, any craft, play dough, Barney, nightgowns, playing outside, going on walks and sliding on her slide. She loves Kit Kats and chocolate kisses more than anything, she will do anything for a chocolate kiss. Her favorite foods are pizza, chicken nuggets, fries, mac n' cheese ( I know she eats so healthy), raisins, apples, grapes, mashed potatoes and frosting. She still only weighs about 20 lbs and is 29 1/2 inches tall. Leila is a really good sleeper, she goes to bed around 9 pm and wakes around 9 am, she then takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. She still sleeps in her crib, we have a twin bed for her but she sleeps so well right now I don't want to disrupt it quite yet. She is becoming such a big girl and learning so much each day. Happy Birthday! We love you Leila bear!

The last couple of weeks

Leila loves dress ups and jewelry, she walks around in her high heels all the time
Leila doing twirls in her Cinderella dress Leila showing me her high heels
Leila loves stickers more than anything, she can spend hours placing stickers onto paper, good thing I found a pack of 800 stickers for $4
While my mom was here we had a little birthday party for Leila. She was so excited to open her presents, she had a hard time waiting for Paul to get homeShe held up each outfit and showed it off before moving on to the next present
She got a bathtime baby which she loves, she takes it in the shower or bath everyday
Leila loves frosting, she would lick all the frosting off the cupcake and then ask me to refrost it so she could lick it off again
Paul's mom Connie came to stay the week with us and today we went hiking in Red Rock Canyon. It was such a beautiful day and so nice to be outside in the sunshine. Leila loved the trail we went on. She threw rocks, found sticks, climbed up rocks and explored everything around her.
Connie helping Leila down a steep part
There was still some snow but it was really warm today, we were comfortable in just jackets
If you look closely Leila has a stick stuck between her legs, we have no idea how it got there

Ouchie!

So last week Leila had been falling a lot, not just tripping over things but just tipping over or running into things. On Wednesday she fell off the couch and got a huge bruise across her cheek and on Tuesday she ran into the tv stand and scrapped her eye and got a black eye. I was thinking it is a good thing we don't have any doctor's appointments right now because they would think I have been beating my child. Well on Friday Leila was going up the stairs her foot slipped and she hit the banister and cut her forehead open.
The banister where she hit her forehead. Her head bled a ton and I was freaking out. I called Paul but he couldn't come home he told me to call Rachele to come over and help. So I packed Leila up and we headed for the ER. On the drive to the hospital. We were at the hospital for 4 1/2 hours. This is Leila right after they stitched her up (3 stitches). She freaked when they started to numb her cut, they had to wrap her up like a burrito so she wouldn't move. It was so sad. They also checked Leila's ears and guess what she had an ear infection, that explains all the falling. I felt bad that I didn't notice that she had an ear infection, but she did not have a fever and never once complained of her ears hurting. Leila is back to normal, she tells everyone she has an ouchie and points to the cut!

Utah Trip part 1

Leila and I arrived in Utah at the beginning of December. We had lots of fun shopping, going to parties and spending time with friends and family. One of Leila's favorite things to do was visiting Santa at the mall, but she did not want to sit on his lap only wave to him from a distance which was fine with me it saved me from standing in the Santa line. Paul arrived about a week later. Of course the day he was flying in was like the worst weather day. Flights were canceled and delayed all over the country. I watched his flight and they showed it was coming in about an hour late. So a little before it was suppose to arrive Leila and I headed to the airport. We couldn't stop in the park n' wait because there were so many people at the airport cars were everywhere, so we circled, little did I know Paul's flight was also circling the airport. They ended up not being able to land and flew back to Las Vegas, I didn't find out until he was already back to Vegas. They refueled and headed back to Salt Lake City. He finally arrived at 1 AM. My parents ward Christmas party, this is the closest Leila got to Santa all year
Leila loved helping Nanny make the gingerbread houses, but her favorite part was making the gingerbread men
We started the tradition of decorating gingerbread houses last year and continued on with it this year. It was a lot of fun and pretty messy. Leila enjoyed eating all the treats.

Utah Trip part 2

Christmas MorningChristmas was so much fun, we got up and opened presents with my family. Leila got a Tricycle, a ride on train, a baby doll set, clothes, coloring books, a piggy bank, Mrs. Potato Head and her most favorite gift lipsmackers chapstick The family opening gifts. We were very spoiled, Paul got clothes, video games, movies and a universal remote. I got clothes and more clothes, and then my parents gave us an elliptical machine I am so excited. Thanks mom and dad!
We then headed off to Paul's mom's house where we were spoiled some more. I got a new crock pot, clothes, ice cream maker, purse and wallet. Leila got a slide and then wished she got what her cousin Mari got (a little kitchen), she also got dress ups and paints. Paul got a TV mount, more video games, and a climbing harness. We had a great Christmas, thank you everyone for everything!
We had our annual Christmas Party with Paul's friends from high school. It is usually an ugly sweater party, but we left Paul's ugly sweater in Las Vegas, I left mine at my parents house. Seth and Jenn win for ugliest sweaters and Colin and Kara come in second for decorating themselves in bows. Thanks Seth and Jenn for hosting the party!
Cute Mia and LeilaSome of the guys
Jenn and Seth bought gifts at all-a-dollar for the prizes of the games. Jackson and Shandra won the lingerie set but somehow this is where it ended up
Gross!
Like Father Like Daughter
We spent New Year's with Colin and Kara and Seth and Jenn, we went out to dinner at Cafe Molise (sp?), it was way good, then we spent the rest of the night freezing our butts off at first night, don't get me wrong we had lots of fun it was just so cold, we ice skated, made awesome hats, got hot chocolate, watched some really crappy dancers and did a little dancing. We then spent the night at a hotel, sat in a really gross hot tub and ordered pizza. Not much sleeping was done, but we had tonz of fun!
I only took one picture all night
