All three kids fell asleep at the same time on the drive to Page, it was awesome!
holding the two babies on our way to the houseboat.
Sunday night we found a great place to anchor the houseboat. It had a sandy beach and was only about 5 minutes away from the marina. We slept on top of the houseboat every night except one because it was raining. Asher slept in a bedroom in a pack n play. We stayed up way too late at night playing phase ten and eating junk food. We took turns preparing dinner for everyone there. We read lots of books and did a lot of relaxing. We had a great trip!
On Monday the kids wanted to try out my parents ski trainer. They both loved it although Greydon didn't like going very fast. I think by the end of the week Leila was going 20 mph on it.
see his little finger pointing down, that was him signalling to go slower
Asher was not a fan of the boat the first couple of days at the lake,, he would scream the second we tried to get his life jacket on and then insist on me holding him the entire time. I blame his grumpiness on the fact that he was sick and just not feeling well.
Greydon loved the water and beach, he was always in his life jacket because he was either playing on the beach, playing in the water or on the boat
Greydon had talked about going fishing with Pop for months before this trip so he was so excited to go one of our first nights there.
He kept making silly faces the entire time we were fishing.
And the best part was that we actually caught fish.
On Tuesday we got a little storm in the afternoon. It was crazy to watch it roll in, there was a wall of dark storm clouds
Poor Asher could not keep his swimsuit up, he is just too skinny. He was struggling to get back to the boat because his swimsuit was sagging but being held on by the bottom life jacket strap and then he need to climb over the rope. Instead of helping him and just laughed and took pictures.
Jumping off the boat was a favorite and happened all day long. Leila eventually jumped off the top of the house boat but I didn't get any pictures of it, just video. She's got way more guts than me! I was blown away with how brave Leila was on this trip, she wanted to try everything, she's just getting so big and this trip just proved it even more to me.
\This was my little companion the entire trip, he wanted to be held all the time and only by me, he would occasionally let someone else hold him but that was rare.
All the kids got a turn driving the boat with Pop.
On Wednesday we went over to Antelope Point Marina (it's a little bit further away than the Wahweap Marina) They have a fun wading area to play in.
Asher wanted nothing to do with the water while we were there.
Crazy hair after going on a boat trip
One of his many tantrums while in Lake Powell.
More playing in the water and getting thrown around by Uncle Marcus and Uncle Jason
Not sure how this was comfortable for her but she didn't seem to notice.
The sand was similar to quick sand and Leila got stuck, Grey got out before he got too deep and then tried to rescue Leila.
Greydon's other request besides fishing was to go on the Kayaks.
Occasionally he would venture from my lap and dip his toes in the water but it never last long.
They climbed the cliff behind our beach and were pretty proud of themselves.
More beach time
Lake Powell means lake water baths, we usually just jump in off the back of the house boat and wash up but for the babies we filled up a little tub so they could have a bath.
Leila surfed with Marcus, she has done this with him or Paul since she was little. She's about too big now ans will have to try it on her own next time.
Taking my turn surfing
A rare moment for Asher, he's giving cuddles to someone besides me. He likes Marcus a lot!
By the end of the week he was feeling better and warming up to the water, boat and life jacket.
Greydon had the funniest belly flop, it made us laugh every time.
I made myself a nice floating lounge chair, super comfortable!
My dad taking all the bigger grandkids for a kayak ride.
I celebrated my big 3-0 birthday while in Lake Powell. Brynnlee and I share the same birthday! We went into town for yummy Mexican food, and they even sang to us and gave us dessert.
Leila loved going on the tube and loved getting thrown off. Jason was champ and rode on the back and anytime one of the kids fell off he would jump in to be in the water with them. Some how the kids started calling Jason, Nancy. Nancy won my kids over, I think he ended up being their favorite person on that trip.
Leila was the lone survivor of the wave they hit.
Trying to get a picture right before we left but the lighting nor my kids were cooperating.
It was seriously such a great trip!
