Dance Recital

At the end of May Leila had her dance recital.  They were dancing to Strawberry Shortcake songs.  She had a tap dance and a Jazz dance.

Leila sat with her class through the whole recital.  And I guess right before her class was suppose to go on  one of the helpers told Leila she couldn't sit on her knees and this upset Leila.  All I saw was her crying and being carried onto the stage by the helper.  I thought it was because she had stage fright.  But after the dance I found out it was because she was upset she couldn't see and was sitting on her knees so that she could but then got in trouble for it.

Leila did such a good job and knew her dances well.  We are so proud of you Leila, you have grown so much since your performance a year ago!

Dance is the best when you can take it with your BFF Daisy!

mini golf

My friend Casie bought a groupon for mini golf but wasn't able to use it before they moved so they passed it on to us.  It was the first time we had ever taken the kids mini golfing and they loved it.  It was one of the last fun family activities we were able to do in Las Vegas before we moved.

Medical School Graduation

Ok so super, super, super big day in our lives. Paul graduated medical school on May 20th 2012.  I can't even describe how proud of Paul I am.  He worked so so hard to make this dream a reality.  He put in so many hours, late nights, early morning, and weekends trying to be a great student and become a great doctor.  He did awesome in his classes, board exams and clinical rotations.  This journey didn't come without sacrifice, there were missed family outings, family vacations, and just good old family life.  This journey was hard, and until you live through medical school you will never completely understand the struggle, sacrifice and difficulties that come with it.  But with this journey also came great joy and blessings.  We were able to meet wonderful, lifelong friends.  I was able to learn to serve and be served.  And I personally was able to meet a whole bunch of amazing women in my ward and wives of other med students.  So even though this journey was hard I don't regret it ( I wouldn't do it a second time, I don't think I could survive another 4 years, the first 4 were enough but I I'm definitely happy we went through it). Anyways back to Paul I think he is awesome and great, and just the most hardworking guy I know and I am so proud of him!

Paul's mom was able to be at the graduation with us.  It was at the Hotel Las Vegas and I was very happy to have her there to help me with the kids.  It was a long day and these pictures are out of order but this was the exciting day!

Lately

Just a quick post of what we have been up to lately.  Life as been crazy since we got back from Hawaii.
We stayed in Utah for couple of days after Hawaii and were able to see are good friends the Petersen's.  We went out to lunch and then just hung out outside.  I love that we can go without seeing them for months and then just pick up where we left off.  I'm really going to miss not getting to see them every couple of months.

My parents tore out all the tile, carpet and baseboard on our main floor and replaced it with new tile, baseboard and painted the walls.  It looks a million times better but it took a ton of work on their part.  I just wish we would have done it sooner so I could live with the nice new tile.  So we have been living in a construction zone plus trying to pack.  We move in about a 11 days, which I still have not come to terms with.  I have no desire to pack and just avoid it by going to the park, splash pads and pools.  And then my washing machine decided to break in the middle of all the construction but thankfully Paul and my Dad were able to fix it.

The finished tile, there is still some painting to do but it is so much nicer now.

Asher has been so happy lately.  He is eating well and sleeping well! He is just overall such a happy little guy!

Greydon on the other hand has been so grumpy and sometimes he's grumpy just for the sake of being grumpy, it's actually pretty funny.  The other morning he was being a little stinker and when I went in my room he came and opened my door and in the grumpiest voice he told my "I don't like going in your room" and then shut the door.  And then on Sunday when we went to nursery (which he loves), he walked in and told each child that he didn't like them (even through he really likes all the kids and talks about them all the time) and then told his teachers he didn't like singing or snacks and then just sat down in the circle for signing but kept a grumpy face on the entire time.  He is such a little character and has us laughing all the time even when he is being moody.

Leila has been a super big helper and such a big girl.  She does the dishes all the time now, she can unload and load the dishwasher and hand wash bottles, pretty impressive!

She had her dance pictures last week and is so excited for her dance recital next Tuesday.
She also had her preschool graduation today.  I can't believe what a big girl she is and will be going off  kindergarten this fall.  Leila loved preschool, loved learning, loved her friends and loved Ms. Joy.  It's going to be really hard saying goodbye to her preschool.  Leila learned and grew so much and loved every minute of it.  I never had a hard time getting her to go to preschool she was always excited and most the time she wouldn't even let me walk her to the door, she would tell me that she could do it all by herself and that i had to stay in the car.  I loved the independence and confidence she gained.  We couldn't have asked for a better preschool for her to go to.

Daisy, Leila, Phoebe, Nate, Alyssa, and Scarlett, the only one missing is Paige

I jumped on the tramp for the first time in ages, it was a blast to feel like a kid again.

On Thursday night we had Paul's graduation banquet.  The company was fun the food was not so great so we went out for frozen yogurt afterwards with several couples.

Tomorrow's graduation and I'm so proud of Paul and all that he has accomplished and then I guess I will have to finally get to work and get our house packed up.  This move is going to be hard, I'm excited but nervous and really sad I'm moving away from such wonderful friends. Okay I think that's it for now but there will be more to come on graduation, dance recital, dentist appointments and moving.
