4

How did this boy just turn 4?
Greydon is such a good boy.  I never really felt like we went through the terrible two's or three's with this boy.  He listens and shares and is just sweet.  He has his moments when he is grumpy or upset but he's easy to distract and turn his mood around.  He loves playing with friends and is really social, he's not really shy but not loud and disruptive.  His preschool teachers tell me he gets along with everyone.

Greydon has a great memory.  He remembers peoples names after meeting then once, he recalls memories from a year or two ago, he has many books memorized,  if something interests him he'll remember it.  Greydon can play for hours with his toys, he is very imaginative.  He loves super heroes and transformers.

Greydon is an excellent sleeper, he still takes naps most days.  I don't lay him down for a nap but most days he'll find his blankets and lay down on the couch and go to sleep.  Most mornings he is up between 6:30 and 7,  which is fine because I'm up getting Leila ready for school anyway.

Greydon has great balance just like his sister.  He can ride his bike with out training wheels and has been doing it for months and he can ride his razor scooter like a pro, he's quick and likes to preform little tricks on it.  He pretty much has no fear and is always willing to try new stuff.  When I took him in for his 4 year old checkup I told him he would need to get his shots for kindergarten and he said, "OK, I can be brave".  And he didn't even flinch or cry while getting them.

We are so lucky to have this sweet, happy, easy going little guy as part of our family!

happy birthday Asher

We had just a little party for Asher with our family.  Paul is on night float and had to work that night but was home in the afternoon to celebrate.  I made a giant rainbow cake for him and we enjoyed eating it for days.  He got lots of presents from grandparents and was really excited to celebrate.  We had pizza for dinner and then I took the kids to see Despicable Me 2 at the dollar theater.  Happy Birthday Asher!

2

Asher is 2!  I have no idea how that happened, the time has flown by.

Asher is are teeny tiny little boy but has a huge personality.  He knows how to be sweet and get what he wants and he has all of us wrapped around his finger.
Asher has opinions on everything, he knows what he wants and when he wants it.  He already picks out his clothes, socks and shoes.  He tries to be very independent and wants to do everything on his own, don't even try to carry him or lift him onto a chair.  He has refused to sit in a high chair for months and gets mad if you call him a baby or little.  He does however love his crib, and if we mention sleeping in a big boy bed he squashes that idea.  And that's OK with me  I'm in no hurry for him to grow up.

He loves playing with Greydon, if you ask who his favorite person is his answer is usually Grey Grey.  He loves helping me out and especially loves emptying the dishwasher.  He is very obedient if I ask him to do something.  But he does have a naughty streak in him, I can't ever leave him alone.  He likes to climb on the counters and find treats in the cupboard or get into drawers and find pens and markers.  I can't even count the number of things he has ruined with his "coloring".  He is so very sensitive, any kind of discipline sends him to tears, even a stern no.

Asher is super cuddly and loves to give hugs and kisses.  When he hugs he uses his whole body he squeezes your neck so tight and wraps his legs around your body.  He also loves to snuggle and will just sit on my lap and hang out.  He has three blankets that he is very attached to and carries them everywhere.  He loves his daddy and get so excited when he hears the garage door open and Paul walk in.

Asher loves playing with his siblings but absolutely hates sharing.  He loves trains and cars and any toy with buttons to push.  Now that Greydon is in preschool Asher really enjoys all the time he gets with the bigger kids toys and nobody to bother him or take them away.  He has begun imaginative play, I'll find him in the basement talking with his toys and acting out little scenes.  Asher also loves playing with baby dolls and is very sweet with the babies unless he catches me watching him and then he tries to be all tough and will throw the baby down.  He is very bashful, and is always telling me to stop looking at him, he hates getting caught doing something sweet or helpful.

Asher is a good sleeper and goes to bed around 7 PM and wakes up between 6 and 7.  He takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.  He talks really well, has a large vocabulary ( I can't even count all the words he knows) and strings 6-7 word sentences together.  He can count to 20 although he sometimes skips a few numbers, sings the ABC's and is starting to learn colors.

He wears 12-18 month size clothes, hates socks and loves wearing his shoes that squeak.   He likes most foods but loves fruit, quesadillas, chicken nuggets, chocolate milk, oatmeal, and cereal.

We love you to the moon and back and can't imagine live with out you!

Beggars night

We celebrated Halloween on the 30th, our city has beggars night the day before Halloween.  We had a busy afternoon watching neighbor kids, getting Leila to and from gymnastics and stopping by Greydon's preschool teachers house.  Plus all the getting costumes on, eating dinner and getting the candy ready for trick or treaters.   Luckily Paul was able to make it home at a decent tie and go with us.  The kids were very into it this year and were running from house to house and little Asher was just trying to keep up.
