Apple Orchard 2014

We like to try and make it to the apple orchard every year.  They have a bunch of fun activities for the kids and then delicious apple cider donuts and apple cider.
We went on a beautiful afternoon in October.  There were no crowds and the weather was so pleasant.
I took the kids on the big tube slides first.  Since there was no line we just kept going over and over again.  I think Asher loved it the most, he would just shriek with delight the entire ride down.

Next up was the big bouncy pillow.

We played on the cars, saw farm animals, went on a hayride and at the end played in the corn pool.

Babysitting

At the very end of September I started watching a little baby girl.  Her name is Lauren, her mom is a choir teacher at the middle school and her dad is a surgical resident with Paul.  It is really nice to have the extra income and most days she is a really good baby.

Nana and Pop visit

My parents came to town the very end of October.  They were able to come to Leila's practice meet before her competition season started.

We went to the farmer's market and got the biggest cinnamon roll, it fed all of us.

We watched Grey play some indoor soccer.

And we played outside in the beautiful weather.

We went out to dinner

And visited the High Trestle Trail bridge.

We also put them to work.  After spending days and many samples we finally picked a color to paint my house.  We then spent several days painting.  It was quite the project and I was so thankful for their help.

September 2014

September was the start of some really crappy rotations for Paul.  He was on Vascular surgery during September and October which meant he was on call Monday through Friday, he did get the weekends off which was nice but most of the time he was catching up on sleep.  Asher was also adjusting to not taking a nap, once his binky was gone he refused to lay down and sleep.  Some days he caught a few winks while we were running errands or if I put on a movie.

We went to the zoo with the Spjuts.  We had free passes that the kids had earned from the summer reading program.  We wanted to use them before the weather got too cold.

We roasted marshmallows with the neighbors

And went to our ward campout, although we didn't stay overnight because it was going to be really cold and we had activities first thing saturday morning.  But it was fun eating  dinner and hanging around the campfire with several of our ward friends.

I volunteered in Greydon's class in September.  It was so fun to see him in his classroom and have him show me the things he enjoys doing and playing at school

Greydon played indoor soccer during the fall and absolutely loved it.

The primary presidency hosted a teacher appreciation night.  We wanted to make sure our teachers felt loved and appreciated for their willingness to serve in the primary.  We also did a little teacher training that night.  It was a lot of fun.
