A little bit of our summer

When we got back from Utah we continued on with our lazy summer.  We spent many Saturdays at our farmers market.  This is seriously one of my favorite things to do.  The kids love it too because they get to pick out some kind of treat or goodie to enjoy.  Paul and I always get a mango on a stick and a papusa from an El Salvador stand.  We usually get a slice of watermelon and all share it and then the kids usually pick out homemade cinnamon rolls, homemade ice cream sandwich or cupcakes.

We had lots of visits to the park!

Lots of swimming at either our friends pool or at the rec center.

Tons of playing in the backyard with friends.

We had to replace our washing machine.  I am so thankful for a washing machine and dryer in my home.  One trip to the laundry mat was more than enough for me.  I won' take this convienvce for granted.

We explored some new and different parks.  This particular park was called a natural playscape.  So it was made up of things found in nature.  They had lots of climbing trees, grass mazes, ponds for playing in, and a large sand box.

Lots of time was spent playing out side in the water.

I actually found my name on a Coke bottle, I was surprised because it was how I spell it which is not the most popular way.

We took lots of naps to rest from all our playing.

We had visits from friends.  The Reynders stopped by on their way home from Nauvoo.  The visit wasn't nearly long enough but we were just happy we got to see them.  Grey (spiderman) insisted on sitting in the shade since the sun was so bright.

And there were some moments where they just all played well together with no fighting.  I really enjoyed those moments.

Flight Home

Our flight home was pretty good, the kids watched movies, colored, played with things in their bags and enjoyed a drink and snack.  We had a quick layover in Minneapolis with just enough time to go to the bathroom and get some lunch.  Our flight into Des Moines was quick and all three kids fell asleep which was so nice.

But then I had to wake them up to get them off the plane.  That is when all hell broke loose.  Grey and Asher were both screaming and refusing to walk.  My arms had bags so I couldn't carry them. They both collapsed several time on the ground .  We finally got off the plane and moved to  a little corner to regroup.  Leila helped carry the boys backpacks, I was able to adjust my bags and hold both boys.  And I gave them each a piece of candy, I just kept telling them we were almost done, she a few hundred feet and we would be to daddy and the car.  Those last few minutes about did me in, by the time I made it to the car I was a sweaty mess.  We were sad to see our trip come to an end but so excited to see Paul.
