Leila Lately

A couple of Saturday mronings Leila was getting ready and told me her jeans were not "busy enough" and she asked if she could make them busy.  Well this is what she came up with, stickers all over her jeans

Leila was playing in her room and came out and surprised us with this awesome little number, I'm pretty sure she has 3 shirts on with a jacket

Leila's little attitude has really exploded lately.  She talks back to me and uses a sassy litte voice when she doesn't get what she wants.   Today she was having a huge tantrum in the car over gum, when we pulled into the driveway she told me she was so mad at me and then hucked her wad of gum at my head and said, "there you can have it."  What am I going to do with her?!!!

Party

A couple of weeks ago we went to Will and Holden's birthday party.  They had an adorable Toy Story party!

Leila playing games at the party

My cute Greydon, he was a little difficult at the party because he was trying to eat anything he could find on the round

My child always seems to be missing clothes, I didn't even notice until someone pointed it out to me it's just so common for her to strip something off that I guess it seems normal to see her like that

Greydon was happy once he found the bucket of ice water

It's so funny that there is a huge playground but the kids all find the ice bucket the most entertaining thing

Midway

Paul and I planned to go to Utah for labor Day weekend, Paul's preceptor told him he had the weekend off so we thought we were good to go.  But then some stuff came up at work and Paul was not sure were would be able to, so I stopped packing and began sulking around. I was pretty bummed because I was really looking foward to the cooler weather, seeing family and going to Swiss Days.  At about 4:30 on Friday afternoon Paul called me and told me we could go, so I frantically started packing and trying to get us ready to leave in an hour.  We left around 6 pm and made it to Midway Utah at about 1:30 am, not bad time at all.  Leila slept most of the way and when we pulled in she woke up and didn't want to go back to sleep, luckily my mom layed down with her so we could get some sleep.
On Saturday morning I got up and ran, it was so nice to be in cool weather with gorgeous scenery but it was so hard to run at such a high altitude.  Plus my parents house is at the top of a hill that is about 1 mile long so at the end of every run I had to run up that hill.  Later that morning Paul's mom came up to Midway and we all went to Swiss Days.  We enjoyed yummy food (Swiss ham and cheese sandwhiches), entertainment and fun booths to look at.  Later that night we ordered pizza and just hung out with my family.

My mom dropped us off at swiss days but we decided to walk home for some exercise,  Leila was so exhausted that she fell asleep on her daddy's shoulders

My parents have been working on putting the yard in their new house so they had rented a little back hoe.  My kids loved it and thought it was so fun to play in.

Enjoying the evening outside!

Greydon doing is "all done" sign

On Sunday we decided to go for a drive and headed up Snake Creek Canyon.  We played in the creek and just enjoyed being outside, it was fun to see all the leaves beginning to change.

After we left the creek we stopped by the playground and pond.  I was busy helping Leila get her shoes on and get out of the car and when I walked over to the grass this is how I found Paul and Greydon.  Paul said he just crawled up on him and laid down, even after I took the picture Greydon stayed there for probably another 5 minutes.

Leila was in heaven being able to play on a playground, it has been months since we have been to the park (way too hot).

Sunday evening Paul and I were able to sit out on the back porch and just enjoy the evening and cool weather.  It was wonderful to put on sweats and wrap a blanket around us.
On Monday we headed down to the valley to hang out with some of our friends.  We met for lunch at Draper park.  It was a beautiful day and so much fun seeing our friends.  We miss you guys like crazy and miss hanging out like every weekend.  I didn't get a whole group shot but did get one with the guys and some of the kids.

Greydon loved crawling/walking around the playground and was making new little friends left and right

We had such a great trip, sometimes I enjoy the really quick trips better because I feel like I get more done and see more people then when I have several weeks.

Preschool

Leila started up preschool again.  Last year it was just joy school that a couple of us moms did but this year she goes to an actual preschool.  Leila tends to get really worked up about new things, she is really excited but sometimes the fear of the unknown just overwhelms her.  We went to orientation the week before school started and Leila was very excited, she got to meet the kids in her class, her teacher and see her classroom.  She kept talking about preschool and how she couldn't wait to go until the morning of.  I tried not to talk to much about it but she told Paul that she was really nervous.  We got all ready and right before we needed to leave she began to have a melt down.  I tried to get her picture but she was in a complete crying fit.  You will see in the pictures below we eventually got her calm and excited.  When we got to school the teacher and most of the other kids were outside gathering before the headed inside.  Leila ran right over and joined the class and didn't even look back.  The first day Leila wouldn't say much about school, just that she had fun.  But since then she comes home and tells me who she sat by, what snack they had, who was the class leader and what they did.  She loves it and loves having Miss Joy for her teacher.  Its so fun to watch her learn new things and then come home and have her tell me all about it or teach me the things she has learned.

Big Guy

Oh man I feel like Greydon has grown up so much in this last month.  He seems like a big boy to me and not my little baby anymore.  I never posted this but at his 9 month appointment he weighed 21 lbs 12 oz was 28 1/2 inches tall and had a big head (I can't remember the measurements on that, all I know is that it was big).
Greydon loves to examine his toys and check them out and he especially loves things that aren't really toys, he is playing with the camera lens cap in the above picture.  He also loves playing on the stairs and on the couch (any place that he can fall off of seems like a fun place to play on).  Any time he crawls up the stairs he laughs the whole time and does this cough laugh and acts like he is such a big boy.

He contnues to be a super happy baby and loves to explore all day long.  He is so busy and seems to be into everything.  I turn around and he is into something new and making another mess.  He takes 2 two hour naps everyday and sleeps 7pm-7am everyday,  well almost everyday every once in awhile he will wake up at like 5 and won't go back to sleep until we feed him.

Greydon has turned into our little monkey, anything that is taller then him he tries to climb, I constantly find him climbing the slide or the slide ladder.  He also has climbed our bass box and printer.  I can't turn my back on him while he is in the stroller or shopping cart because he has learned how to shimmy his way out of the straps.   He also crawls to the edge of the stairs, stands up and starts taking tiny steps toward the top steps, it about gives me a heart attack everytime I find him at the top of the stairs.

Greydon gets so excited when he sees an open pantry, refrigerator, dishwasher, bathroom or door to the outside, he loves exploring them but if you close the door or take him away man he throws a fit.
He loves his binky and feels like he needs one with him at all times.  Sometimes when he finds two and can't decide which one to have in his mouth and will sit and switch them back and forth or try to fit both in his mouth at the same time.

I made Leila hold on to Greydon so I could get his picture when I found him on top of this box.  He just stands there like he is so proud of himself

Greydon still gets 4 bottles a day but prefers to eat them in an ackward position, sometimes it is upside down, sitting up or standing.  He also gets 3 meals a day,
he prefers fruits but I can still get him to eat vegetables.  He has finally figured out how to chew food, some of his favorites lately are teriyaki rice, pancakes, graham crackers, peaches, and chili beans.  He has also learned the sign for all done but doesn't quite get the sign for more yet.

Greydon loves to play "so big", peek-a-boo, pat-a-cake, and chase around the kitchen counter. He definitely loves all boy things like balls and cars.  It has been really interesting to watch how boy things are just built in. He goes right for balls but ignores dolls and he loves to growl and make car sounds.
Greydon's lastest trick is walking.  He doesn't do it all the time yet but he does take lots of steps and tries all day long.  If he is trying to get somewhere fast he drops to his knees and starts crawling but most of the time he is attempting to walk.  He falls a lot and is still really shaky but he sure seems determined to get the hang of it.
Stop growing big guy, it is going by way too fast.  We love watching you grow and learn but I wish it would just go slower.  I can't believe you will be 1 in a couple of months.
