Happenings

We have kept pretty busy the last week and a half.  Leila and Greydon have had several playdates with friends (which has been a blessing for me, I love my kids and all but going it alone is so draining and being able to have a couple hours to myself is heaven).  We've gone to dinner at friend's houses which again is another blessing, so thank you friends! We've done a lot of deep cleaning at our house and selling things we don't use anymore.  I've made a bunch of freezer meals so we are prepared for when the baby comes or just to have now when I don't feel like cooking.  Leila started preschool again and she loves it, I just wish it was more then two days a week.  I didn't even get a picture on the first day of preschool because we were having car issues and had to be rescued by friends so maybe I'll get one this week and we'll just pretend it's the first day of school.  I've read a bunch of books lately, it's what I do since nights can be pretty lonely without my husband around.  I just finished The Room, it was pretty good, kind of sad but overall I liked it.  I had a doctor's appointment today and me and the baby are doing well.  I'm measuring right on and not having any complications other then tons and tons of braxton hicks contractions.  Paul's doing well in New Jersey, he's on call a lot but liking the program.  He's probably going to New York City this weekend with his sister, I'm super jealous.  We miss him a lot, I caught Greydon with my phone the other day yelling into it for daddy and getting really upset when Paul wasn't on the other end responding, so sad.  We are surviving and mostly due to the fact that we have great friends who are looking out for us, I can't tell you what a wonderful ward we have and how blessed we are to be a part of it.

Last Friday we went to Bounce U and the kids loved it and wore themselves out.

And then I just had to throw this picture in of Greydon, he loves markers and he loves lipstick and he loves to use the markers as lipstick.  I keep hiding all the markers but he keeps finding them, not sure what I'm going to do with this boy.

Last Week

Paul was able to come visit us for a week in between his rotations.  He had been gone for two months and still has two more months to go so we were so excited to see him.  Unfortunately the night he arrived Greydon woke  up puking and then it cycled through all of us, so the first couple days he was here were pretty uneventful.  The day I was sick we had planned to go boating so I ended up missing out but Paul took the kids boating and of course there are no pictures from the day because Paul dislikes being in pictures and doesn't really think about taking them.  It was really cute to see Greydon with Paul the first time he saw him.  He woke up and I took Greydon to Paul and Greydon just layed his head on Paul's shoulder and cuddled with him for quite some time.  His face was in awe, like he couldn't believe he was really seeing his daddy.  August had been hard because Paul's computer camera wasn't working so we were not able to skype the whole month.  I didn't take many pictures of the week, I was too busy just enjoying Paul home with us.  But some of the fun things we did include:
*dinner at Training Table with Paul's family
*shopping at IKEA
*going on a date with Paul to dinner and to see the movie The Help
*going to the children's museum and lunch at Gateway
*Leila and Paul spending hours playing PBS kids and the Wii
*watching the Utah football game
*Getting cookies at the Sweet Tooth Fairy, I highly recommend the oatmeal cookie with white frosting or the chocolate cookie with coconut cream cheese frosting, so good!
*Spending the night in Midway and then having our friends over to watch football, go to Swiss Days, and have a BBQ and campfire
The week flew by way too fast and we miss Paul like crazy, hopefully the next two months just fly by.  Me and the kids are back in Henderson now.  It's been nice to be home, start preschool, see many of our friends, and just get back into our normal routine.

*Midway

We had so much fun in Midway! Paul, me and the kids and Paul's mom went up on Friday night and stayed over.  Leila loved have her grandma all to herself.  On Saturday morning Paul got up early and went golfing with Colin and Spencer.  Kara and Stephanie and their kids came up around 10 am.  We just hung out and let the kids played.  I couldn't believe how well they played together, they literally played the entire day without a fight or even caring what the adults were doing.  Seth and Jenn and their kids arrived just after lunch time and then the boys watched the BYU football game and the girls headed over to Swiss Days.  It was super crowded and really hot.  After about and hour I was getting really swollen so we decided to head back home.

We lined the kids up by age (Mia, Leila, Cohen, Savanna, June, Greydon and Zoey).  It's funny to see the difference in size.  Mia and Leila are only 6 months apart but Mia is about a head taller then Leila.

We had a BBQ that night complete with dutch oven peach cobbler and smores!

The boys hate having their picture taken so they went super cheesey! I just love our friends and love that we can just pick up where we left off.  I love that we can just be ourselves around them and that we laugh like crazy when we are together.  I miss them like crazy and wish we lived closer, maybe someday!
