Just some pictures of our week

Here are some pictures from the week. It has rained a ton here this week so we have spent a lot of time inside. Thank goodness for preschool so Leila can have some social time and time outside of the house or I think she would have gone crazy being stuck at our house all day long and I for sure would have gone crazy trying to keep her happy!
Leila enjoying ice cream, her favorite right now is mint cookies n' cream Our happy guy!
Greydon talking with Paul one night, he is so happy after he has eaten but I guess it is not that unusual I am super happy after I have eaten
I left Greydon laying on his side on my bed one day, I ran downstairs to grab something and came back to find that he had rolled onto his stomach and falling fast asleep
Oh and look how long he looks, he is becoming such a big guy, it makes me a little sad that the time is going by so quickly
I posted this picture because he is actually smiling while Leila is holding him, he usually has a worried look on his face when Leila is holding him or even when he hears her voice, he puts up with a lot!
Getting some tummy time
Greydon loves his swing, he will smile, coo and stare at the mirror and animals that are above it. Its not a great picture but it was hard to capture him while swinging

Blessing

We decided to bless Greydon while we were in Utah in December so that our family could all be there. We blessed him on December 27, 2009 at my parent's house. We decided to keep it real small and simple. It was so nice to have a small group of family members to help bless him. And since it was at my parent's house I wasn't even stressed about making sure he was fed and happy. But I wouldn't have had to worry about that anyways because Greydon was so happy and content. Paul said he was awake durning the whole blessing and was staring at all the men that were holding him. After the blessing he continued to be happy as he was held by almost everyone that came. We love our little guy and are so happy he is part of our family, it feels like he has always been with us, its hard to remember life with out him. He fits are family perfect, with his peaceful personality he balances out his spunky little sister, we couldn't have asked for a better little guy. I am so thankful Paul is a priesthood holder and was able to bless him and for all the family that came to support us. It was such an enjoyable and relaxing evening with our families.

Wow two months

I love his chubby little cheeks
Greydon had his two month appointment today, here are his stats:
*Weight 12lbs 11 oz 75th percentile
*Height 23 1/2 inches 70th percentile
* Head 40 cm 50th percentile
He also received two of his immunizations the Hib and Rotateq, they were out of stock on the others so he will have to go back next week for the Pediarix (IPV, DTAP and Hep B) and the Prevnar. He only cried for a few minutes and then fell fast asleep. He was so awake and alert at the appointment, he was talking and giving everyone smiles.
*Greydon continues to be a happy and content baby, he only cries when he is hungry or when he is eating and he wants me to burp him
*He will roll over from his tummy to back but doesn't do it very often because he loves being on his stomach so much. When I put him on his stomach he tucks his hands under his face and usually falls asleep
*He smiles a ton and loves to talk and coo and anyone near by
*Greydon gets a worried look anytime he can hear his sister or sees her near by because he knows that his sister can be a little bit aggressive in a loving way, lots of squeezes and smothering hugs and kisses
*He is starting to grow out of his 0-3 month clothes, he is a chunky little guy. The doctor came in and said, "well it looks like Greydon is a good eater"
*Greydon likes to eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours during the day, he never goes longer then 3 hours. He will also take a bottle of breast milk if we are out and about or if I leave him with daddy or another family member
*He is an ok sleeper at night, he will do one 6 hour stretch but only if I put him to bed at 8 PM, which means I am up with him at 2 and then he will only go 3-4 hours which is 5 or 6 and then every three hours after that
*He loves his binky and he loves his swing
*Greydon loves baths and it doesn't matter if it is in a sink, bath tub or quick shower with mom or dad, he never cries just enjoys the water
*Greydon has had congestion for most of his two months of life, luckily he doesn't seem to mind it too much
*Greydon started sleeping in his own room and in his crib when we got back from Utah, yay!
*Greydon really likes to turn his head to the right, he can turn it to the left but prefers the right and if we try to turn it to the left for him he gets really upset
We love our Grady so much and know that his calm personality is truly a blessing because his sister is such a strong willed spunky little girl

Sunday before church, he was in a great mood, lots and lots of smiles

Our Week

The week didn't start out so great, we woke up to Leila having the stomach flu. She got the stomach flu right before Christmas and it only last about 12 hours, so I couldn't believe she got it again in such a short amount of time, but I thought ok it will only be like 12 hours so we can get through this. Boy was I wrong, she was sick all day Monday and all night long, when she got up Tuesday I thought she was doing better but was wrong again, she couldn't keep anything down and I was worried she was getting dehydrated so I called her doctor and they sent us to the ER to get fluids. At the hospital they gave her some anti nausea medication which helped a ton. She stopped throwing up but was still so weak and exhausted for the next couple of days. We spent a lot of time laying in bed watching movies. My hands were so raw because I washed and sanitized them anytime I had contact with Leila, I didn't want the stomach bug and I sure did not want Greydon getting it and luckily we both stayed healthy. The rest of the week was spent making bread, playing games, going out for pizza and going to the park!

Leila loves the park especially the swings!

Happy little guy!

She loves making bread she asks me all the time if she can help make bread

It turned out delicious, it was my best so far

Christmas morning

We had an absolutely fabulous Christmas Day, it was really busy but really wonderful. Christmas is so fun with little ones. Leila totally gets the idea of Christmas but is so scared of Santa, she doesn't care if he is the one who brings her presents she wants nothing to do with him. We couldn't even tell her on Christmas eve that Santa was coming unless we wanted to be up all night with her because she would have been so paranoid she would not have slept. We already experienced this early in the month when we told her there were Christmas elves watching to make sure she was being good, she was so frightened that it took us forever to assure her the elves were not in the house, they were at the north pole. On Christmas morning I went in to wake her up and told her Santa had come, she freaked out, grabbed onto me and didn't want to leave her room, once I got her out she kept looking around the room making sure Santa was not there. Once she realized he was not in the house and that there were lots of presents she got so excited. We started out the morning at Paul's mom's house, then went to my parents house for the afternoon and then up to Park City to see Paul's dad that evening. We were definitely spoiled by our families. Leila loves her new kitchen, vanity, and V-motion video game. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful and generous families! Sorry my pictures are a little out of order.

December Vacation

We had a great December in Utah. Leila, Greydon and I flew to Salt Lake on December 4th. I wanted to be there to have Leila and Greydon's pictures taken on December 5th. The flight was good, Leila was a little naughty in the airport. She has never hit me but decided to start while we were waiting to board the flight. She knew there was nothing I could do to punish her so she kept on hitting me. But once we got on the airplane she was great and so was Greydon, thank goodness! We spent the week at my parents house, and I tried to finish my Christmas shopping. Paul finished his 1st semester of his 2nd year of medical school. Yay only one more semester to go before rotations start. It was so great to have Paul all to ourselves for 3 weeks. We did a lot of shopping, helping his mom make chocolates, making gingerbread houses, and staying up late talking with his mom. Paul and I were able to see a lot of movies, we saw Blindside ( I saw it twice), it was sooo good, Sherlock Holmes, and Avatar in IMAX 3D (which I didn't think I would like and really didn't care to see but it was awesome). Leila and I also saw the Princess and the Frog, she loved it, she was dancing and laughing until she fell asleep. Leila played a lot with her cousin Mari, they played together pretty well but would have occasional fights, mainly because of Leila, she is still learning to share. Leila went to the discovery children's museum with her Grandma and cousin Mari, they spent the entire day there. We spent a lot of time with our friends and family just hanging out, playing Wii, going out to dinner, and doing puzzles. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and blessing day for Greydon, posts on these to come soon!

Christmas Eve

Leila opening her Christmas pajamas from Grandma. I know not very Christmas-y but Dora and nightgowns are what she loves The guys who participated in the Nog-stache. Paul won for most ridiculous mustache (in other words he won for growing the most non-manly mustache, which is sad because he had been growing his longer than anyone else) Leila playing the candy bar game with the other kids, she got her favorite, KitKat and chocolate kisses Jon won for best ugly sweater, the gold chain and bare chest complete the outfit

Dusty and Mary brought a giant rabbit for their white elephant. Luckily Kaylee totally loved the bunny and took it home

Paul's awesome outfit, I was so glad that the mustache contest was over so that the mustache would be gone and it was that night!

Sean picked the awesome kitty sand are as his white elephant Madsen cousins
Heather and her white elephant gift
More of the cousins
We spend every Christmas eve with Paul's family. We get together and enjoy soups and lots of other delicious food. We exchange white elephant gifts, sing songs, kids get pajamas and adults get a box of homemade chocolates from Paul's mom. Paul's mom spends several months making cherry chocolates, raspberry truffles, orange truffles, mint truffles, turtles and toffee. These chocolates are amazing better than any chocolate you could buy. Everyone looks forward to their box all year and nobody will share with their kids, some won't even share with their spouse. This year they decided to have an ugly sweater contest and the guys decided to have a nogstache contest (they grow a mustache and then drink egg nog and see whose mustache was coated the best with egg nog, I know super gross). We did a lot of laughing and just enjoyed spending time with family.
