Father/Son Campout and Girls Night

Last weekend was our ward father/son campout.  Paul really wanted to go but we were a little worried Greydon wouldn't do well.  Paul decided to give it a try and if Greydon just didn't do well they could always just come home.  Plus the campout had cabins, electricity and running water (I know not really camping). Well Greydon did awesome and both him and Paul had a great time.  Paul said he really loved the fire and playing in the stream.  Plus Greyon loves being outside more than anything so he was just in heaven being able to roam around and get dirty.

Around 9:30 Paul went and layed Greydon down in the pack n' play, he went right to sleep and didn't wake until 6:30 that morning even with people coming in and out of the cabin and turning on the lights.  Thank goodness he is a good sleeper.

Greydon was the youngest boy there but we have such a good ward that all the older boys were really nice to him and loved playing with him.

Since the boys were out playing Leila and I decided to have some of our own fun.  Rylee and Peyton invited us to go get pedicures. Leila was really excited but really nervous.  When we got there she picked out her color but then freaked out when it was time to get in the chairs.  She just stood by my chair while I got my pedicure but finally warmed up to the idea and so she had her pedicure and manicure while sitting on my lap.  She ended up loving it and smiling through the whole thing.

I tried to take a picture of her cute toes after but she is pretty anti having her picture taken right now.

After pedicures we headed over to the Lynn's house to hang out with friends.  Leila was in heaven playing with all the girls her age or just a little bit older and it was fun for me just to hang out with friends and eat snacks.
And then the next morning we went out to breakfast at the Coffee Cup in Boulder City with Alessia and Kristine.
It was so fun to spend a fun evening and morning with my little girl!

Swimming Lessons

Leila and Greydon have been taking swim lessons for the last two weeks and they absolutely love going. Leila is a little fish and swims all over and loves being under the water. Greydon loves the water and is learning so much.

Baby Showers!

I've been able to help throw a couple of baby showers for my friends.  Me, Rachele and Jamie planned this rubber ducky shower for Erica.  We found some of our ideas here

We served carmel french toast, fruit and oj.  Jamie found the recipe and did most of the cooking and the food turned out delicious!

We sent everyone home with a loofah and cookie.  The cookies turned out to be much easier to make than I expected plus it was fun to learn a new way to decorate cookies.

Diaper cake I made.  I didn't love the way it turned out but  it worked so oh well.

Next I helped throw a shower for Rachele.  Erica came up with most of the ideas for the shower and was the masternind behind it all and was taking on a bunch of the work.  Well 3 days before the shower Erica went into labor and had her baby.  So me, Jamie, Paige, Robyn and Emily had to jump in and fill in where Erica left off.
Emily made the cute invitation.  It's fun to have friends with so many different talents, it sure makes assigning party responsibilities easy!

Erica's sister made the cute owl banner and owl and Paige made the letters to add to the banner
Paige made the yummy drink and awesome drink stirrers

Fruit in cones idea found here
Emily made the yummy Magleby's rolls, so yummy!

Vegetables and dip in shot glasses.  Next time we need to add  more dip!

Robyn made the adorable cake and cupcakes (again, it is so nice to have talented friends!)
The cute mama to be!

Random

I have a bunch of random things to write down but no pictures, so its all words today.

1.  Greydon has been sick the last couple of days with a fever and a cough.  He's been super cuddley but so grouchy, I can't wait until he feels better.

2.  Leila and Greydon started swim lessons last week and they are every single day for two weeks.  So between dance, preschool and swimming I feel like we are constantly trying to get somewhere.  I was really worried about swim lesson because a) Leila said she didn't want to go b) Leila was reusing to wear a swim suit and c) I wasn't sure how Greydon would like the water and being handed off to the swim teacher.  But to my surprise Leila didn't fight about going to swimming lessons, she hapily wore a swim suit and Greydon was as happy as an be in the water.

3.  We actually got Leila to wear underwear last week, which if anyone knows Leila, is a huge accomplishment.  She has also been willing to wear clothing besides her black sweat pants and gray shirt so I feel like we are finally making some head way with all of her clothing issues.  We still have a huge way to go but these little steps feel like giant accomplishments.

4.  I'm really tired of feeling yucky.  I feel a ton better than I did but I'm just ready to be done with all the morning sickness and tiredness.  I'm ready to have some energy to exercise, keep my house clean and get some crafts done that I 've been wanting to do.

5.  Greydon is talking up a storm, it's so fun to hear him learn a bunch of new words everyday and try and repeat all the things we are saying to him.  His favorite word right now is bubbles and boy does he love bubbles.  He says it all the time he even started using the word bubble for water.

6.  Lately Leila loves to write notes and lists, so I spend a good amount of time spelling words for Leila as she writes her lists.  It's so fun to have her interested in learning but I can't wait for her to learn to read.

7.  Paul and I are in desperate need of a date night.  I don't think we have been out just the two of us since sometime in March.  With him being gone all of April and then busy weekends and days in May and lack of babysitter we just haven't had a chance.  Hopefully in the next week or so we'll be able to go out.

Well thats all I can think of for now and maybe I can get it together and start taking some pictures of what we've been up to for the next post.
