First Haircut
While my sister was in town I had her give Greydon his first haircut. You can't really tell he got a hair cut, I mostly wanted his hair cleaned up and evened out. I just can't bear to cut his curls off.
children's Museum
A couple of weeks ago Paul's mom came down to visit us for the weekend. And of course Leila wanted to go to the children's museum. It was a lot of fun Paul was able to go with us and Greydon is old enough to enjoy it too.
Greydon loved playing in the store and pulling everything off the shelves. He was in heaven playing in a giant pantry.
Leila loved shopping and it was nice because the museum was really empty so she pretty much had the whole store to herself.
We tried putting Greydon in the infant area but he kept climbing over the wall and escaping.
Both kids loved the bubble area.
Greydon and Nene splashing in the water
We dressed Leila and Greydon up in costumes and let the play on the stage. Leila spent most of the time opening and closing the curtain.
There was a plumbing area where kids could put together pipes, Leila spent about 45 minutes putting together all the pipes on the wall, she was so proud of herself when she finished.
We had a fun afternoon at the museum and the best part was that Connie's membership that she has for the museum in Utah works here so we all get in for free!

First Kiss...kind of
Just needed to post this little conversation we had with Leila so I wouldn't forget it. A couple of weeks ago we were driving in the car with Leila and she had played with her best friend Ryder earlier that day. Usually Leila doesn't give me very many details of what she does when she goes to friend's houses and usually I have to ask her questions about it to get anything out of her. Well this is what she says to Paul and I
Leila: "Mom I touched Ryders tongue"
Me" "What? Like with your finger?"
Leila: "No with my tongue"
Me: "You touched his tongue with your tongue?"
Leila: "yep"
Me: "Why?"
Leila: "He was sticking his tongue out so I stuck my tongue out and got close and touched it"
Me: "Did his mom see?"
Leila: "Nope"
Oh dear, I guess we can't leave these two unsupervised! We talked to Leila about germs so hopefully she won't be touching anyone else's tongue with hers.

Dirty
Now that it is really nice out in the the evening we sometimes head over to the Hadlock's cul-de-sac and let the kids play outside. They usually end up really dirty but this particular night they were super dirty from head to toe! I found Greydon playing in the road, trying to eat rocks, playing in the dirt and playing in the sprinklers.

Lake Mead
On Saturday our friends invited us to go to Lake Mead and play on the beach. The weather was gorgeous that day, nice and sunny with just a slight breeze. The water was so smooth, Paul was dying to go out and wakeboard, too bad none of us poor students can afford a boat so instead we were stuck on the beach. But we still had lots of fun!
Greydon headed right for the water. He loved everything about the beach and water and by the time we left he was so muddy, sandy and covered from head to toe.
Leila of course loved every part of the beach too. She played in the water, made sand castles and collected shells.
Some of Paul's classmates pulled up on a jet ski and asked if we could watch it while they went to eat, too bad they didn't leave the keys for us but the kids did have lots of fun playing on it.

Dairy Field Trip
Leila had her first preschool field trip on Friday. We went to the Andersen Dairy and then to the park for lunch. We got to see where the ice cream is made and put into cartons and then where the milk is pasteurized and bottled. Leila liked the first part of the tour but at the end of the tour they took us to the freezer section and it had really noisy music playing and Leila did not like that one bit, she made me carry her and kept her hands over her ears the entire time. At the end they showed us a movie and then we got free cups of cookies and cream ice cream, yum!
Leila listening to Calcium Cow talk about the dairy
Greydon was really interested in all the talking animals
The viewing windows were a little high so Leila had to stand on her tippy toes to see in (if you enlarge the picture you can check out her huge calf muscles)
Leila was a little nervous of the talking animals so she made me hold her during her picture with the cow
We then enjoyed lunch at the park with her preschool friends!
