Halloween

On Saturday the kids and I painted their little pumpkins, Leila loved it and Greydon mostly wanted to paint the newspaper and was done after about 3  minutes.

On Halloween we carved pumpkins (and when I say we I pretty much mean Paul carved them).  The kids were so excited to carve them and they helped clean them out but when it came down to carving them they kind of lost interest and Paul ended up doing it.

This was right before we  headed out trick or treating around our neighborhood.  I was so surprised by Leila she wasn't shy at all this year and was thanking everyone and being very polite.  She was quite concerned with getting home to hand out candy.  She kept saying "ok I'm done I've get plenty of candy lets go home" but then we would pass a house with their lights on and she would say, "they have their lights on so we might as well stop there and just get a little bit more candy".  This conversation happened about 10 times, she just couldn't pass up the free candy!

So we tried to keep busy most of October in hopes that the month would fly by and that it did.  We had lots of playdates with friends, Leila is playing makeup with Peyton in the above picture. I shoud have gotten a picture after they were done putting makeup on each other, they were quite colorful! We went to the park a whole bunch, it's so nice to be able to enjoy the outside again and the cooler weather.

Greydon loves to play with Leila's Polly Pockets and Barbies, I'm not worried because he loves his trucks and cars just as much.

The kids were playing outside with the hose one evening, it was a tad chilly but they didn't mind getting wet and Greydon  didn't even mind that Leila was spraying him right in the face.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Groupon for A Childs Play and we went with some friends to try it out.  It was super cool, it was like a giant indoor playground plus they had a whole bunch of toys to play with and computers for the older kids.  If this place was closer I would really consider getting a membership there, the kids had so much fun.

We also went back to the little Halloween carnival by our house with some of Leila's friends.

Greydon finally figured out how to ride the scooter without someone pulling him along.  He absolutely loves it and tries to ride the scooter anytime we go into the garage.  He seems to little to me to be riding a scooter, I feel like he's still my little baby but he is turning into such a big boy!

We went to our ward trunk or treat last week and got just the right amount of  candy.  Leila is a cupcake fariy this year and Greydon is a frog.

We were really trying to keep ourselves busy the last couple of days before Paul got home so we made sugar cookies one afternoon.  I think Greydon's favorite part was licking the frosting off the knife.

Paul finally made it home Saturday night and we couldn't be happier, the kids were so excited to see their daddy and they want him to do everything for them.  Now we can finally have this baby! I was a little worried this past week, when I went to the doctor's I was 4 cm dilated, but luckily the baby stayed put and we are going in tomorrow night to be induced, yay!!!

Cute as a Button

I have such good friends that threw me an adorable baby shower.  I felt al little guilty having a shower since it's  my third baby and I pretty much have everything you would need for a baby but it is nice to get new things and I love getting together with my friends.

The theme was "Cute as a button"  and Emily, Paige, Rachele and Marci went all out.  Everything was perfect and the food was amazing!

Robyn made the adorable cake, she is so talented! And it was delicious and my favorite kind, lemon!
As I was opening presents I noticed the gift from Marci contained a dress, I guess she missed the memo about it being a boy.  Love ya Marci, I'm just glad you were in town to come to the shower!
I am so lucky to have such great and talented friends, thanks for spoiling me and making it a great night!

Grover

Over Conference weekend we met up with Paul's family in Grover Utah.  Paul's cousin Shannon's family has a farm and cabins there and we usually spend a weekend there every fall.  I just love it there and love spending time with our family.  The kids get  super dirty but have so much fun playing outside and playing with all their cousins.  Me and the kids drove there on Thursday afternnoon (6 hour drive) and got there at dinner time, we met the family at the restaurant Slackers for burgers and fries. On Friday we headed to a campground for lunch and then we were off to Lower Bowns for fishing and playing in the super cold water.

The cold water didn't stop any of the kids they were splashing around in it like it was bath water.  And I'm pretty sure Leila completely dunked herself in it.

I loved waking up every morning and watching the sunrise over the mountains, it was so beautiful.  Greydon loved playing out on the deck, especially during the chilly mornings.

The kids were so dirty everyday, at one point the girls dumped dirt on each others heads and when I went to wash Leila's hair out, mud ran off her head because there was so much dirt.  The bath tub looked disgusting at night after all the kids had their baths.

On the second day we head to "Devils Garden" for lunch and to hike around.  There were so many cool rock formations to climb on and explore.  The kids had so much fun there.  Afterwards we headed to calf creek to play in the water.  Some of the group hiked to the lower falls but Connie and I stayed back with the younger kids.

It started getting late and the group was still not back from their hike, so I loaded all the kids (mine plus Sean and Heather's and Brighton) into my car and headed back to the cabins.  We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows around the fire that night.

On the third day we drove to Capitol Reef and hiked the Great Wash.  The kids loved exploring all the caves and rocks.  We took the hike nice and slow and just let the kids have fun.

Greydon and Mylee found a lizard and trapped it in some bushes and then the kids hiked a huge pile of rocks and pretended they were dragons.

At the end of the hike the kids found a little dirt cave and again got super dirty.  You can see the layer of orange sand all over Greydon's face.

Monday we got up and tried to help clean the cabins but my kids were being super difficult so we ended up just packing up and heading home.  We had so much fun with our family and enjoyed the cooler weather and time outside.  And then to our surprise when we got home Vegas was having much cooler weather too and lots of rainstorms, it was heavenly.
