Black Hawk Meet

Leila had her 2nd meet on November 9th, the Blackhawk meet in Waterloo.  She got 9.35 on vault (3rd place) , 8.8 on bars (3rd place), 8.25 on beam (3rd place) and 8.85 on floor (4th place), and 3rd place all around.

Grey is 5

Wow Grey is 5! He is the nicest, sweetest boy.  He gets along well with others and is always willing to share.  He always wants to include everyone and worried about their feelings.  Grey is doing well in school and beginning to sound out words.  Grey is very social and loves to play with friends,, he is always searching the neighborhood for kids to play with.  We love our little peacemaker!  On his birthday we had a gymnastics meet.  We did donuts in the morning and then went to the meet.  He picked Culver's for dinner that night.  

Lego party

We had a combined Lego party for Grey and Asher this year.  They invited several friends, had lunch, built and raced Lego cars, had a pinata, played pin the head on the Lego man and a bean bag toss.

Asher turned 3

My baby turned 3 years old:(  We went out for donuts for breakfast that morning and then opened presents, had cupcakes and went to chick fil a for dinner that night.  I can't believe he turned three, it feels like just yesterday he was my little baby.  He is by far our most loving little child.  He loves to hug, cuddle, and give kisses.  He's a good eater, good sleep and good talker.  It's not uncommon for him to eat 2 bowls of cereal, a yogurt, an apple with peanut butter and several pancakes for breakfast.  He loves to play, and loves chasing after Greydon.  They are very good play mates and get along really well.  He is very sweet and very obedient, his nursery teacher tells me all the time that she is so happy Asher is in her nursery class and that he is her favorite.  She even requested to have Asher in her sunbeam class since she is moving up to teach one of our sunbeam classes.  We just love our sweet buddy so much!

October

Here are a few other things that happened in October.  And I only remember because there are pictures.

I helped with Greydon's Fall party, they got to do pumpkin bowling, paint pumpkins and decorated a bag.

We watched the Spjut kids overnight so their parents could have a little get away.  Leila and Madi wanted to have matching clothes that day.  

Grey was going through a phase of not wanting to share a bed with Asher and prefered sleeping on the ground in a sleeping bag.  He was also sick that day, I knew because he was still asleep at 8 am and he never sleeps that late he is ALWAYS awake before 7 and usually closer to 6.

The last weekend at the Farmers market before it closed for the winter.

80's day at school for Leila

I think this was the last nice day of the fall before it turned cold and gray.  

Halloween Festivities

We carved our pumpkins a couple nights before beggars night.  I always think carving pumpkins is so much fun but then when it comes down to it, it's always me cleaning out several pumpkins and then carving the pictures the kids picked out and it takes forever.  Plus I'm trying to contain the mess and keep my kids from spreading pumpkin guts all over the house all while "helping" them carve and not cut off their fingers.  In the end it's not much fun and I think to myself, next year we will just paint pumpkins.  Somehow I forget all this when Halloween rolls around the next year.

We had our ward trunk or treat about a week before Halloween.  It was kind of a bust, nobody was really in charge and  people were late and then still needed to set up their trunks.  At least the kids had some fun.

Beggar's night!!!!

We had great weather for Halloween, it wasn't freezing but just a little chilly.  The kids ran from house to house and ended up with a ton of candy.  Asher pooped out at the end so I took him home but Paul stayed out with the other two for a little bit longer.  

On Halloween night we went to a party at the Findlay's home.  We had yummy soup, bread, and spooky desserts. Then we played Halloween games with the kids.

Leila had her first official meet in October.   The jump jivin meet was hosted by Triad.  Leila had a lot of fun and loved cheering on her team mates.  We learned that Leila has nerves of steel and didn't let the pressure get to her, she put on her game face and went out and did her best.  I didn't take a lot of pictures, its hard to get good pictures in a dark gym with no flash.  Leila ended up 1st place on bars, 4th on floor, 6th on vault, 8th on beam and 4th place all-around.
