"The Boys"

We had so much fun this past weekend, especially Leila. She love playing with "the boys". Paul's cousin Nan, her husband Jon and their four boys came to stay with us. It was crazy and wild but a blast. They arrived on Thursday and Leila and the boys played outside with rocks and the sidewalk chalk. On Friday we went to the children's museum, picked up lunch at Wendy's and then had lunch at the park. That night the boys taught Leila how to climb the stair railing and then jump onto the love sac. On Friday we headed down to the strip, we went to M&M world and watched the fountain show at the Belagio. We stopped for lunch at El Pollo Loco and then came home for naps (everyone was beat). That night we went to a carnival, the kids played on all the bounce house toys and petted the animals. This is where the fun night ended, as we were on our way to Mimi's cafe for some dinner Leila began throwing up, we had Brighton and Jonah in our car and I look at them and they were gagging and covering their mouths. We quickly rolled the windows down and pulled over to a gas station, we got Leila and the car seat cleaned up as best we could and the boys got in their parents car. We took Leila home, it was weird cause she seemed to be fine and wasn't acting sick before or after the incident, we think she might get car sick because we had been in the car for awhile and she did this same thing on the way to lake powell. Anyways Nan's family left Sunday morning, Leila was so sad to seem them go, she loved having friends to play with from sun up to sun down. She even named her dolls after them she has a Sethy doll (named after Seth) and a Simey doll (named after Simon). We can't wait to see them in a week when Leila and I head up to Utah.

White Coat

Last Sunday we attended Paul's white coat ceremony. All the DO students recieve a short white coat that they wear anytime the are out in the community representing the school and during there 3rd and 4th year rotations. They get a short coat when they are student doctors and then when they graduate they get a long coat. The ceremony was very long and I am glad we got a babysitter for Leila, even though the ceremony was kind of lame it actually feels like this whole medical school thing is real and that he really is becoming a doctor, well at least that is how I feel. Paul on the other hand said the fact that he is in class all day everyday and studying makes the whole thing seem real to him.
