All City Play Day

Last week our city had a play day.  They have free games and activities at the park.  They also have all their city trucks, buses, firetruck, and police cars on display so the kids can get in them and pretend to drive.  I think that may have been my kids favorite thing to do.

The firemen also let the kids experience shooting water from a hose.  The line gets really long so we went there first and only had to wait for a couple kids to go before us.

The kids had big wheel races, played football and baseball, made several crafts, and played with Lego's.  It was a fun night but I wish I would have taken my stroller.

Phone photo dump

Just a quick photo dump from my phone before we head to Utah this weekend.

The kids had been begging to have lunch with Paul at the hospital, so last Friday when Paul didn't have any surgeries scheduled we met him for lunch.

The first Saturday in July we went to the farmer's market.  I love going and especially love trying all the yummy food they offer.  I think my favorite is the mango on a stick, the kids always love getting a cinnamon roll.  We got caught in a pop up thunderstorm, we waited it out under a vendors tent.  Afterwards we headed over to the Arts Festival.  They had a great area full of free kids crafts, so we spent some time doing those, checked out the art work on display and then let the kids play in the little fountain and stream.  Later that night we had Brandon and Kara over for a game night.

We have been to the park a bunch

We've gone swimming a whole bunch, about every afternoon we head to the pool for and hour or two.

Asher is our little fruitatarian.  He loves about every kind of fruit and really loves strawberries.  The other day he pulled his stool up to the counter and helped himself to the whipped cream and strawberries.

4th of July

On July 3rd we were invited to go to an I-Cubs game with some friends.  Unfortunately they sold a ton of General Admissions tickets but didn't open u there normal general admissions sections, instead there was one section of bleachers or standing room only.  So we opted to go to our house for s'mores, fireflies and sparklers.  We had lots of fun and ended up hanging out until 11:30 PM, I don't think the kids got to bed until midnight.

Savannah, Leila, Madi, Olivia, Greydon and Austin.

The next morning we went to our wards annual 4th of July breakfast.  And then came home and took naps.  That evening one of Paul's fellow residents invited us over for a BBQ.  We have lots of fun with Brandon and Kara and even though they don't have kids yet they still like hanging out with us and all of our children.  That night me met the Spjuts at a park in Waukee for a fireworks show.  They had saved us great seats near the band with a great view of the sky.  Greydon loved the show, he laid back and watched the entire show with out moving.  Asher was a little nervous but never cried.  And Leila spent most of the time complaining about how loud the fireworks were.  We had a great night and we are so thankful for the freedoms we enjoy, we live in a great country!
