Book Club

For Book Club this month we read Little Women, I actually didn't read it but I'm planning to.  Emily and Rachele decided they wanted to combine book club with a Christmas party and of course it turned out so pretty.  They asked us each to bring a treat to share and a book to exchange.  I made a treat but it turned out awful so I showed up empty handed but there were plenty of treats so it was ok.  Only a few of us brought books for the book exchange but I somehow ended up leaving the book at Emily's house.  I love book club because I've read books I never would have plus I love getting together with these girls and just talking and staying up late.  It was such a fun night!

Asher's newborn pictures

My friend Emily came and took somme newborn pictures of Asher and I absolutely love them, especially the ones with Asher and Greydon and Asher and Leila.  I'm lucky to have such talented friends!

Photo dump

Here are just a bunch of random photos and things we've been up to.

Love this little boy!  He is excited about everything in life and always seems to be enjoying himself.  He is super excited about Christmas and wants everything! When I ask him what he wants Santa to bring him he has a different answer everytime.

Asher has been such a good baby lately.  He has been sleeping great lately, eating between 8 and 9 at night and then sleeping until 5 or 6.  He still is waking up in the night but I can usually just give him his binky, he's not hungry enough to really make a fuss and is satisfied with his binky.
Leila loves helping with Asher, she loves to hold him, pick out his clothes, give him his binky and run and grab things for him
A bunch of girls in our ward went out for a goodbye dinner for Rylee.  If I say anymore about her moving I might cry so all I'm going to say is I'm going to miss her and her family so much!

One day Leila was intent on making a game.  She had an idea in her head and pretty much created the whole thing.  She drew a horse and then found ribbon and tape and created her own pin the tail on the horse game.  I won't say the game was created easily, there were quite some dramatics that went along with it.  Leila ended up drawing two horses because the first poster didn't turn out quite how she wanted it and she had to take a break from it for several hours because she began stressing over it but in the end she was quite excited and proud with how it turned out.

Cute little Asher, I can't leave him in his bouncing chair unattended or Greydon gets to him.  He sits on him, lays on him, steals his binky and pokes him.

Greydon playing with his cousin Logan on Thanksgiving morning, this is one of the only pictures I took.

Leila made placecards for everyone coming to Thanksgiving dinner, this includes writing everyone's name and decorating them with stickers.  I love that she is so interested in writing and learing to read.

Leila loved decorating our Christmas tree.  Greydon helped for a little bit but was causing too much destruction so we finally just layed him down for a nap.

Snuggling my little boys!

Our kids are terrified of Santa.  Leila won't go near him.  Greydon was all exctited to see Santa but when it was his turn he got all scared and wouldn't even  look at him.  Now he tells me he is going to push Santa when he see's him.

Playing Polly Pockets, Greydon loves them as much as Leila
I snapped this picture of Asher because his cheeks looked so chubby as he layed there sleeping
Asher was quite alert the other night and giving us lots of smiles. I was having trouble capturing the smiles because everytime the camera flash went off he would make a funny face.  But I did catch one!

On Saturday we went to the Bass Pro Shop to see Santa and do some of the free Christmas crafts.  The kids made ornametns and wrote letters to Santa.

One month Asher

Asher is now a month old, so crazy the time just flew by!  Asher is getting nice and chubby and most of it is going right to his cheeks and neck.  At his 2 week appointment he was already 9 lbs 4 oz and 21.5 inches.  Asher is a pretty good baby, he does get a lot of gas and sometime can be quite fussy, espacially in the middle of the night.  He loves to be on his stomach and I really wish it was safe to sleep him on his stomach because he is so much happier there.  He still likes to eat about every 3 hours and is a great nurser as long as he can stay awake long enough.  He still sleeps in our bedroom although Paul would have moved him out weeks ago.  He loves to be held and is pretty happy if he is in someones arms.  And thankfully he loves the binky!

Lately

Some things that have been going on lately

1. Paul finished up all of his interviews, yay!  No more traveling! Unless he goes back to visit some of the programs, a couple of them really want him to come back and rotate even if its only for a couple of days.  Although I don't think it will be possible with his school and other rotations he has to do.  He has recieved some great feedback and now we have a lot of information to sort through and decisions to make.  I just wish we knew where we were going!

2.  Having three kids is crazy!  Someone always needs something.  Leila has been pretty good and has been a really good helper.  Greydon has definitely had a difficult time, for the most part he is good but he likes to bug Asher, he wants to be super independent and falls apart very quickly if things don't go his way. And I'm definitely not getting enough sleep, if i'm not up with Asher I'm up with Leila or Greydon and naps for me are nonexistent.

3.  Greydon has shown lots of signs of being ready to potty train.  He tells me when he needs to go poop and has gone in the potty several times, he wants to be changed immediately after going, he asks to wear underwear and talks about going in the potty.  I'm not sure I'm ready to potty train.  I would love to not have two kids in diapers and would love to not change Grey's nasty diapers just not sure I have the energy to do the potty training.

4.  We got a Christmas tree!  We were just going to get a real tree but that is pretty expensive so Paul went and checked at Goodwill.  They had a brand new Martha Stewart Christmas tree and Paul was able to get it for $37. I love it!  I'm so excited to have a tree in my home and the kids loved decorating it and pointing out ther ornaments.

5.  We have tried to do some Christmas activities the last couple of days.  We watched Elf as a family the other night, we went to the Ethel M chocolate factory and the Christmas lights at the cactus gardens, we've made lots of hot chocolate, bought a new Christmas movie, made Christmas cookies, and we went out for peppermint milkshakes the other night.  My kids are so excited for Christmas and love anything that has to do with Christmas.  They love looking at toy ads and telling me all the things they want, which is pretty much everything!

6.  Paul went back to work on Monday.  It was so nice to have him home and he did so much.  He is doing ER at the Boulder City hospital  He says its pretty slow there and luckily only has to do 15 shifts.

7.  I'm getting close to being done with my Christmas shopping, just a few more people to buy for, the only problem is I don't know what to get them. The kids are pretty much done and I'm really excited for Christmas morning with them.

The Big 2

Greydon turned two almost a month ago and I finally found time to right some things about him.

Greydon is such a big boy and we love him so much!
-Greydon loves his sister more than anything and wants to do whatever she is doing including girl things like painting finger nails.  I appease him by painting just one of his nails hopefully this doesn't cause any long term damage.
-Greydon can also get so upset with Leila, if she bugs him he lets her know.  He has been known to pull hair, bite and tackle.
-Greydon wants nothing to do with his crib and decided this about two days before his birthday.  He loves sharing a bed with Leila and goes to bed pretty well and naps good most of the time.
-Greydon loves his binky more than pretty much anything, I don't know how we are going to get rid of it.  The other day I asked if he needed it and he said, "no, just want it."
-He loves to do things on his own and that is pretty much all I hear, "I do it".  He likes to try and dress himself, get his own food, open his own snacks and get in the car.  He tries so hard to be independent and if I try to do anything for himhe throws a huge tantrum.
-Grey is a big boy with a big head.  His weight was in the 75th percentile (29 lbs), his head and height in the 90th.
-Grey can count to twelve and has a very large vocabulary, and can put several word sentences together.
-Grey has the best laugh and voice, it's deep and growly and anyone that has heard him talk knows what I'm talking about.
-Grey is super cuddley and loving.  He loves to give hugs and will cuddle anytime.
-Grey loves to sing, if we try to sing to him he says, "no no I sing" and then he sings us the song.
-Grey loves to dance and starts shaking it whenever there is music on
-Greydon is really good at sharing as long as you ask him first and don't just take the toy
-Greydon is a pretty good eater and will try most anything.  He loves Danimals, strawberries, spaghetti, broccoli, and anything chocolate.  He does not like sandwiches or quesadillas.
-Greydon loves Asher and loves to hug (smother) him.  I can't leave the two alone in the room or Greydon will lay on Asher or try and pick him up, so it's tricky for me to get a shower.
-Greydon has a great memory.  He remembers the names of people after the first time I tell him.
-Greydon is a great kid and makes us laugh everyday!
