Some of what we've been up to lately

Several weeks ago I met up with my good friends from high school to go swimming at Murray Rec center.  It was so good to see them and spend the morning with them, I just wish April and Megan could have made it.

Leslie, Ashley, Ashley and Me

On more than one occasion I have gone into the bedroom to work out and when I finish this is what I find, Greydon has stolen his binky out of the crib, found a blanket and climbed in the vibrating baby chair and fallen asleep.

My kids love picking vegetables from the garden,  this is after helping pick the green beans.

Last weekend we went to my parents house in Midway. We made tin foil dinners and played in the backyard

And then later that night we roasted marshmallows, we forgot the big ones so we ended up using mini ones and the kids thought it was so fun and actually ate them better than the giant ones.

On Sunday we went to church (which was quite the battle with my two kids, they didn't do well at all) and then went and fed the ducks at the pond.  We were surrounded by ducks, they must have been starving or something because they acted like they hadn't been fed in ages.

At the beginning of August I was able to go to dinner with a bunch of my friends from Henderson.  A bunch of us all happened to be in Utah and since so many of us have been out of town or moved away for several months I haven't seen some of them for a while.  So it was fun to get together and visit without the kids!

Leila always gets my camera and takes self portraits of herself.  Going through my camera and finding these little treasures always makes me laugh.

Last week Leila and I drove home so I could go to a doctor's appt.  I was able to meet up with a bunch of friends from my ward to celebrate all the summer birthdays, it was such a fun night at Cafe Rio.  Leila got to play with her friends and go to Wacky Wednesdays at her preschool.  We then headed to St. George to meet Paul's family.  The kids played at the indoor playground and then we went out to dinner at the Brick Oven.  That night we went and saw "The Little Mermaid", which was so good.  Leila stayed awake for the whole show except the last 20 minutes but it was almost midnight by that point to I'm surprised she stayed up that long.  The next morning we got up and swam at the pool and then headed back to SLC that afternoon.

On Monday it was Connie's birthday so we got together at Sean and Heather's home for dinner and cake and ice cream.  Leila just loves playing with her cousin Tamari.  They were so good the whole night and spent most of the night playing dress up and putting on dance shows for us.

Random

Just a whole bunch of random and crazy thoughts in my head

1.  I'm really tired of being away from my husband, it's really hard, I do not wish single motherhood on anyone.  But at least we are half way done with all these away rotations and I'm so excited to see him tomorrow night.  Plus we finally found a place for him to stay in New Jersey and that relieves a ton of stress!

2.  I'm kind of tired of being poor, I really want a new purse or some new clothes and would really love to color my hair again, some day.

3.  I'm loving watching Greydon learn new things everyday.  I love that he is constantly saying "whats this?" and so curious about everything around him.  I also love that he calls Popsicles "pockabooms", it doesn't even sound close to Popsicles but its just so darn cute.  I also love that his two favorite things are trucks and princesses, he is such and boy and loves boy things but he also loves joining his sister in all of her things.  He just loves Leila and follows her around and tries to do everything she is doing.

4.  I'm really trying to love Leila's opinionated personality but its hard.  She has been really, really, really hard lately.  I really struggle with how to work with her on all of her issues.  Most people don't understand how difficult she really is.  Sometimes a feel judged by other people, like it's my fault the way she is or that I'm not doing a good enough job or I'm not disciplining her the correct way.  I've had some really bad mom moments lately where I've said things that I wish I hadn't but I've been at my wits end.  I am thankful that I have a background in behavioral training that has helped me a ton and helped me be a lot more patient with her.

5.  I've definitely hit my third trimester, things are starting to get uncomfortable and I'm exhausted.  I had my glucose test which came back normal but also showed I'm anemic so hopefully the iron I'm now taking will help me get some of my energy back.  Only ten more weeks, which I want to go by fast because I'm kind of tired of being pregnant but I'm also not so sure I'm ready to have this baby, three really scares me and its alot easier having him in me than out.

6.  Speaking of baby boy, we still don't have a name for him and haven't even really talked about it.  I really don't want to wait until he is born before we decide but it may come down to that.  Another thing about this baby boy is he is super duper active, he is constantly moving, I don't think he ever sleeps.

7.  I never really had any cravings with my other two pregnancies other than I liked chewing ice but this one I craved salads during my first trimester, green grapes during the second trimester and now I'm craving lemonade and chewing ice.

8.  I've read a ton of books lately and just finished Jane Eyre, which I really liked and I'm excited to see the movie when it comes out on DVD in a couple of weeks.

9.  I'm really missing my friends at home, it feels like ages since I've seen them and I feel so out of the loop.  It will be nice to get back home and get back into a routine.  I'll miss being in Utah, the cooler weather and the help from family but it will be nice to be back in our home.

10.  And last, I'm so excited for Paul to be here for a week, I know I already mentioned it but I can hardly wait to see him tomorrow!

Sorry for all the random stuff but I needed to right stuff down so I can remember what is going on in our lives.

Bubble Bath

The kids love to take baths and pretty much have one everyday.  They love all the bubbles the jetted tub makes!  Greydon covers his chin in bubbles and then says, "ho ho ho".

Wheeler Farm

My mom and I took the kids to Wheeler Farm on my birthday.  They loved seeing all the animals but I think their favorite part was feeding the ducks.  The best part was that it was overcast and cool, oh and it was free!

Leila hates having her picture taken right now so unless she asks for the picture or I sneak it I usually get her running away or covering her face.

28

I celebrated my 28th birthday last week and now get to share my birthday with my new niece Brynnlee, yay!!!

Zoo

We have been able to go to the zoo twice since being in Utah.  The first time we went with Kara, Mia, June, Stephanie,Savannah and Sadie.  We played on the playground, went on the train, looked for dinosaurs, and saw about half of the zoo before we had to get home.  It was a super fun morning and we loved being there with friends.

The second time we went to the zoo we went with my mom and nephew Logan. We were able to see all of the animals, ride the carousel twice, play on the playground and ride the train.  The kids love the zoo and are completely exhausted by the time we leave.
