Cactus Garden
While Paul's mom was in town we headed over to the cactus gardens to see the Christmas lights. The lights were so cool and then it was fun to enjoy some free chocolate samples at Ethel's Chocolate Factory. They also had a Santa there, but Leila was not about to get too close or sit on his lap. In the pictures below you can see she planted her feet and would not move any closer to Santa. I sure hope she warms up to him because we have an expensive Santa shoot coming up in about two weeks.

Nana and Pop visit
My mom came and spent about a week and a half with us. It was so nice to have her here to help take care of Leila and keep her busy. I don't think we could have made it that week without her. Leila has really struggled since the baby was born, she has been very jealous. She loves Greydon and loves to take care of him but definitely doesn't want me taking care of him or holding him. Anytime I pick him up she immediately is climbing on my lap telling me to just hold her. If she knows it is close to the time I need to feed him she starts wanting to be held or becoming very needy. So it was really nice to have my mom here to hold her and keep her busy.

Greydon's Arrival
Ok so this post is going to be pretty long and might be too much information for some but I want to have it written down so I can remember this. We had planned to be induced at 39 weeks so that my mom could be here to take care of Leila. The induction was set up for Sunday the 8th at 7:30 PM. The Thursday before I went in for my appointment and I was dilated 4cm so my doctor thought I might not make it to the induction date but I was pretty sure I would. Sunday night came and I was having some contractions but nothing regular and nothing very painful. We spent most of Sunday relaxing and spending time with Leila.
When we got to the hospital we had to wait for them to come get us from the waiting room and I guess right when we buzzed to have them take us back they had an emergency and we ended up waiting over an hour in the waiting room. By the time we got back to a room, changed, checked in and all hooked up to monitors and IV's it was 10 PM. I slowly started having contractions and they began to get a little uncomfortable, they had told me the anesthesiologist was about 30 minutes away, at about midnight I decided to go ahead and get my epidural before I got too uncomfortable. Just after 1 AM I had my epidural and was ready to sleep. But that didn't last long I soon was feeling super nauseous and my blood pressure dropped really low. They came in and began pumping me full of lots of fluid to try to raise my blood pressure. Well it wasn't working and my blood pressure was getting lower and lower, they were about to inject me with epinephrine but it finally came up a little. The rest of my labor it was low but not dangerous. So Paul and I tried to sleep a little. But then I started having some pain and I could move my legs quite well so I had the anesthesiologist come in and adjust my epidural. My nurse also came into break my labor and I was dilated 6 cm but the baby was still really high, they usually don't like to break your water when the baby is high but the baby just wasn't coming down so they went ahead and broke it. Well when my water broke it gushed and gushed and kept on gushing, my nurse who was quite old and has been doing this for years told me she had never seen so much amniotic fluid before in her life. So I don't think I would have ever gone into labor my little boy was just to happy swimming around. Once my water broke the baby was not happy his heart rate dropped a little and didn't want to come back up, so I was on oxygen and being turned from side to side. I was finally fully dilated and ready to push at about 7 AM. They called my doctor and when she arrived we were ready to go. She then turned to Paul and asked if he would like to deliver the baby and of course he was thrilled to have the opportunity. Paul did great and three contractions later little Greydon Que was born (although we didn't know that was going to be his name yet). I held Greydon for about 30 minutes before they took him to the nursery. Paul went with him and I was taken to my room. Paul came back awhile later and let me know that Greydon was having some trouble breathing and they did a chest x-ray and he had some fluid on his right lung. I of course fell apart, I just wanted my little baby back. They said his stats were good and they were going to observe him for awhile. Well 5 hours later he was back and doing well. I know I shouldn't complain because he was healthy and I really didn't have to wait that long to have him back, but it was really hard being away from him for that 5 hours. That evening we finally decided on his name. We just love this little guy and he is such a calm, content and patient little baby.

Our little GQ
We welcomed Greydon Que Dunlavy on November 9th 2009 at 7:33 AM. In case you were wondering where we got the Que from it is my grandpa's and dad's name. He was 7lbs 15 oz and 20 inches. Paul actually delivered him (with my doctor's assistance). He had a little fluid in his right lung when he was born and had to spend some extra time in the nursery but is doing great now. We are so excited to have him join our family and love this little guy so much!

Silverton Casino
On Friday we headed to the Silverton Casino to see the aquarium and mermaid with some friends from our ward. Leila was so excited to see the mermaid until we got there. She examined the aquarium and then became really worried about the mermaid, she wanted me to hold her and kept asking if the mermaid was coming out to get her, she finally got back in the stroller and wanted to leave, so we left without seeing the mermaid. As soon as we got to the car she wanted to see the mermaid but I told her we would have to come back another time, crazy little girl!
Halloween Night
I am a little bit behind but decided I needed to get caught up before this little baby comes. We had a fun Halloween. Leila played most the day with her friend Ryder and then later that night we took Leila and Ryder to Town Square to do some trick or treating. It was crazy there, thousands of people. You had to wait in line to get candy, kind of lame so Paul and I decided to just cut in line and get the kids their candy. When we got back Paul took Leila around our neighborhood to do some more trick or treating. She loved it, she kept telling us houses are so much better then malls.
