San Diego Fun
Right after Paul got done with school in May we left for San Diego. We had promised to take Leila to the zoo for learning to go potty. We stayed with my Aunt Julie and Uncle Brent's house (thanks so much for letting us stay with you, feeding us and making us feel welcome). On Monday we went to the zoo, we tried to see as much of the zoo as possible. It was awesome all of the animals were really active and playing around, it was much better than just watching them sleep. Leila loved the monkey's, gorilla's, and the petting zoo.
On Tuesday we went to the Wild Animal Park. It was huge and we had to do a lot of walking because all of the exhibits are really far apart. We were so close to the animals at times it made me a little nervous. Leila loved the elephants here because they were playing in the water and spraying water all over. Going in the spring was a good time because there were lots of baby animals.
On Wednesday we got up and went to a little dive restaurant for breakfast that my aunt recomended. It was probably the best breakfast I have ever had, it was so good, plus we got to sit on the pier while we enjoyed our meal. We then went to Sea World for the rest of the day. I think this was Leila's favorite. She loved everything we saw. I enjoyed it too because I hadn't been there since I was like 3 years old. We got way sunburned that day, I had put sunscreen on my face but figured since it was mostly cloudy my arms and neck would be ok, boy was I wrong. At least I take care of Leila better then myself luckily I slathered her in sunscreen and she made it out just fine.
We also went to the beach, but it was cold, cloudy and windy. Leila played in the water a little bit but after a few minutes she was freezing and ready to go. My aunt planned a BBQ with my cousin's family, it was really fun to see them, after the BBQ we went down to the hot tub, not planning on getting in the pool because it was only in the seventies. Next thing I know all the kids are in the pool having a blast (Paul included). Leila saw the other kids going off the diving board, so she marched right up there and with no hesitation jumped off, I was shocked. She had so much fun going down the slide, jumping of the diving board and swimming around with her floatie on.
We had a blast on our trip and it was a great way to celebrate Paul finishing his first year of medical school, one down three more to go!

I love the San Diego Zoo! So many things to see.... but I always spend a loooong time in the Panda exhibit.
Gosh, she's getting soo big! What a fun vacation!
Oh man that sucks I wish we would have coordinated (I think I spelled that wrong) plans. It would have been so much fun to be there with you guys. Especially since the weather was bad it would have been nice to have another couple to hang out with at the hotel hahaha!!
I remember the days when I had my picture taken on top of that same brass turtle.
The first picture of Leila going down the slide looks like she almost flew out.
Those are good pictures! So after the doctor told me that he was going to induce me next week one of the first things I thought of was that you didn't get here until the following week! :( ha Ha but I will be excited to see you at my house just as much as I would at the hospital! I am so glad that you will be back for a while in July!
