Some Old Some New

A couple of weeks ago me and my friend Casie took our kids to Chuck E Cheese to play games, the kids had a blast and spent about two hours playing games.

September was really hot and being pregnant I was dying in the heat.  I was over swimming but the kids wanted to go and it was a way to cool down so this was the last time we went before our pool closed.

This is a rare moment of loving brother and sister time.  I didn't realize that sibling rivalry started so young but these two can sure go at it.  Greydon no longer puts up with Leila's bossiness and fights back, he has been known to pull her hair and bite her.  They really do love each other and actually are starting to play together and keep each other entertained but Greydon usually doesn't like to cuddle with Leila so it was fun to catch them snuggled up together in my bed watching a movie

This little guy is keeping me busy and testing my patience.  He definitely has an opinion about alot of things and can throw and all out tantrum when he doesn't get what he wants.  He still loves making messes and sometimes I think he dumps things out just to make me angry.  He's really into trucks and cars and playing outside.  He's a super tough kid and takes a lot of falls and tumbles with no tears.  He's really excited about the new baby and loves to lift my shirt up and talk to the baby and give him hugs and kisses.

Leila was really into her snow hat for awhile and was wearing it everywhere including to bed (the funniest part is that was all she was wearing, she was completely naked under those blankets).
Leila has been really good lately.  Clothing hasn't seemed to be in issue, well at least it isn't causing stress in our lives right now.  She goes and gets dressed quickly and without a fuss.  There are certain things she doesn't like to wear and sometimes she changes several times but she at least she is dressed and in a timely matter.  She's wearing underwear and hasn't tried to run around naked for weeks now.  Although her clothes don't always match or she comes up with some interesting combinations I'm just happy she is dressed without the meltdowns.  She is also letting me do her hair again and has been ok with clips in her hair.  I think all these improvements have to do with her being back at home with her routine.  She still has her rough moments and likes things a particular way but overall she is doing so well and I don't feel completely overwhelmed.  We will see how she does when the new baby comes it may throw her for a loop but I think she is pretty excited and is always telling me about all the things she going to help with when the baby arrives.  Leila is really into writing and reading right now, she practices everyday writing her letters and loves to make lists and write notes to friends.  She is also showing a lot of interest in reading, she is trying to sound words out and working on what sounds all the letters make.  I know she would pick up reading really quick if I would just spend some time working with her.

On Monday for FHE we met up with some of our friends at the little pumpkin patch by our house.  Leila had been asking to go for weeks and was so excited all day.  They loved the swings, the bounce house and the petting zoo but we sure missed Paul!

We are now counting down the days until Paul gets home (only 17 more) and then we can have this baby, yay!  Because I am soooo done being pregnant, my body particularly my right ribs don't handle these last couple of weeks very well.  I don't remember my body being so sore with my other two pregnancies but this time may have to do with the fact that I have two busy children and no husband around to help with them or with things around the house and especially because I have no husband to rub my sore back or feet.  I haven't really come to the realization that I'm going to have a newborn in the next couple of weeks, I mean I know I'm pregnant and all and definitely feel that but it's weird to think I'll actually have another baby.  I haven't bought any newborn diapers, I haven't pulled out any baby clothes or baby supplies yet or really even set up for this baby to come I guess that will be my project for the next couple of weeks.

And finally I have to show this picture of the adorable dresser we are getting.  While in Utah over the summer I found a dresser in my parents neighborhood that someone was just giving away so I took it.  It needed some work but I thought I would have time to get it all done.  I decided to strip the paint off of it before painting it, that was a huge project.  And was only accomplished because of the help from my dad and his power washer.  My dad then helped me sand it and get it ready for painting.  Well I didn't get it painted before returning home so I left it in Utah with a picture of the color I wanted it to be.  My dad painted it, fixed the drawer glides and the back and put new knobs on it.  He seriously is the best and it turned out so cute, I can't wait to get it here and see it in person!
