In September Leila's school took all the kindergartners on a field trip to the apple orchard. The learned about apples, farm animals, how the farm runs and went on a hay ride. They were able to pick a pumpkin to bring home too. Leila really wanted to go back and I wanted to go and take all the kids. Finding a day that Paul could go with us was tricky because he is working all the time and pretty much every weekend. We finally had a free Saturday morning (Paul still had to work the night shift that night). We got up early to try and beat the crowds, which actually worked. By the time we left around noon it was getting crowded but all morning we were able to to all of the activities without waiting in line.
I think this was the kids favorite thing to do, they loved playing in the corn pool. We spent a good 30 minutes in it when we first got there and probably another 30 minutes before we left.
The slides were super fun, and then we did a whole bunch of other activities, like the corn maze, pumpkin patch, jumping pillows, train ride but I didn't take any pictures because I was holding a sleeping Asher in my arms.
We ended the trip with a stop at the country store. On Saturdays they have samples out for everything. Their apple pie was delicious and so was their fudge. We ended up buying apple cider donuts, 10 lbs of honey crisp apples, apple cider and apple butter. It was a fun day with our family!
