1st week in Utah

Our first day in Utah was spent getting haircuts at my sister's house.  Greydon's hair was so long and he really needed it cut.  After haircuts the kids played in the backyard and had lunch.  We headed back to my parents for naps and then the kids played in the water in the backyard.  Later that afternoon we went and saw Paul's mom before she had to go to work that night.  We just played in her backyard while we were there.

On Tuesday we made a trip to Ikea to get a few things and have lunch.  After Ikea we headed to Midway with my mom.

We ate dinner outside and watched the workers build my parents fire pit.

After dinner we played in the hot tub

Asher was trying to be super independent and insisted on putting his pajamas on by himself

On Wednesday we went over to the pond to feed the duck and then went on a little walk to visit some historical sites in Midway.

We then drove to the top of this little mountain so we could look out and see all of Midway and Heber.

That afternoon we played in the hot tub some more and then headed inside because it started to rain.  The rain was crazy, it came super fast and hard, it started filling m parents basement window wells.  My parents were outside trying to redirect the water and I was inside trying to keep the rain from coming in through the window or at least catch it in buckets.  In the end the carpet only got a little wet.

On Thursday morning I met up with some of my friends from high school at Ashley's house.  We let the kids play in the pool and slip n' slide while we hung out.

On Thursday afternoon we headed to Connie's house to play.  We set up race tracks, played outside and went to chick fil A for dinner.

Friday morning I went to the temple with my mom while Connie watched the kids.  We stopped at Zupas for a yummy lunch.   Friday afternoon I went shopping for a bit with my mom and then we went swimming with Connie and Mari and Mylee at White towers.  We sent all afternoon at the pool and then went and got shaved ice that evening with Paul's brothers family.

These were the kids size snow cones!  It was out of control, I think me and the tree kids could have shared 1 kid sized shaved ice.

On Saturday we got up and went to visit Paul's cousin Nan and her family and his Aunt Marilyn.  The boys loved their house because it was full of Legos and transformers.  We met up with Paul's Dad for lunch and then headed home for naps.  That afternoon Leila started complaining of her stomach hurting.  By the evening she was throwing up.  We had a barbecue with Paul's friends from high school that evening, so I went with just the boys.  It was really fun seeing those friends and every one's kids, but I forgot to take a single picture.

Leila was super sick for about three days straight and then it took her a couple more days to get her energy and appetite back.

We had a pretty busy first week, so many people to see and things to do.  But it didn't really slow down the rest of the trip.
