24th of July Weekend

We got together with all of Paul's family and some of his cousins and their families the Saturday before the 24th of July.  We went swimming at Murray pool.  Paul's brother got their early and got a huge spot all set up for us with lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas.  It was nice to have a big spot for all of us and all of our gear.  Leila spent almost the whole time swimming with her cousin Mari out in the deep end.  Grey loved the beach entry pool and loved just splashing in the water.  I also took him down the slide several times, it's nice because at the Murray pool they let parents take kids down the big slide.  He loved the slide and was constantly asking to go down it.  Leila was too busy with her cousins to even go down the slide with me.  And if she wasn't in the water she was laying on the cement warming up.  We spent all afternoon there and had a great time with family. 

On the 24th of July I had planned to go to the Butlerville parade in the after noon and then stay for the carnival and fireworks.  Well Leila was being super grumpy and didn't want to go and by the afternoon I wasn't really in the mood to take two kids out by myself and try to keep them happy and contained all evening so we decided to change plans.  Leila and I went and did some shopping and then we bought fireworks, went home and had a BBQ and then set off fireworks when it got close to being dark outside.  It wasn't the most exciting 24th of July but it was fun and then I was glad we were at home and not at the carnival and fireworks because it started raining when it got dark.
