Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend, Saturday morning we dyed Easter eggs and listened to conference.  We then took Leila to her dance class, went and got lunch and then stopped by the District to see the Easter bunny.  Once we got there Leila didn't want to see the Easter bunny or get her face painted so we ended up just getting a balloon, waving to the Easter bunny and riding the carousel.  It was really crowded so we didn't end up staying long.  We listened to conference some more and just hanging out as a family.

Our eggs turned out really ghetto so I didn't take a picture of them all finished

On Sunday we listened to conference and started cooking our Easter dinner.  I made two different desserts but only one worked out.  I made these little meringue baskets filled with pudding and fruit (my mother-in-law makes them) and they turned out great and were delicious but I also tried making a lemon meringue pie which failed horribly, I think I need to try a new recipe and give it another shot.  We had the Hadlock's over for dinner and then played a fun game of Rook.  The boys pretty much dominated us, mostly because I kept making stupid mistakes but then we played a final round where the winner was the ultimate champion, thank goodness Rylee got an awesome hand and the girls won!  Thanks Haclocks for teaching us how to play Rook, we love it!

We also enjoyed and Easter egg hunt and searching for our Easter baskets on Sunday morning.  Leila was so excited to look for eggs and then help us and Greydon find our baskets.  Paul and I got new beach towels, sunscreen, a cooler and ice in our basket.  Greydon got sunscreen, swim diapers, a beach towel, a new summer outfit, toy cars, a blanket, and new shoes in his basket and Leila got a swim toy, sunscreen, a towel, a summer outfit, a book, a preschool book, a puzzle and way too much candy.

Leila shared an egg with Greydon

She was so proud of all the eggs she found

Yummy those desserts sound good. Too bad the pie didn't work. Next time you try it be sure to do it when I am there so that I can be your taste tester. :)
