Leila's Fall Party

I love being in my kids classrooms, I try to volunteer and eat lunch with them.  This year I signed up to be a homeroom parent.  I was a little nervous to be planning the class parties but also really excited.  We are only given about and hour for the party and there are a bunch of rules.  Like it has to be a Fall themed party and not Halloween and no homemade food items, everything has to be store bought and you can only ask the parents to donate items, you cannot ask them to donate money.  Plus Leila's class has peanut, milk and whey allergies.  Coming up with a snack was no easy task, we ended up letting them make a snack mix of pretzels, candy corn, candy pumpkins, teddy grahams, and raisins.  Unfortunately about 5 minutes before the party started we realized the candy corn and pumpkins were make in a facility that also makes items with peanuts so we had to pull all the candy, and we thought we had been so careful in planning.  Oh well the kids didn't end up on a sugar high after the party.  We planned a craft, story time, snack and some minute to win it games.  We divided the class into groups and then the rotated through each station.  The party was so fun, the kids had a blast and the teacher was very happy with how it turned out.
