We had to fly stand by which was a little stressful (Paul decided he's not cut out for standby) but in the end it all worked out. We were not able to get on the direct flight from SLC to Oahu but we were able to catch a flight to LA and then on to Hawaii. The flight from LA to Hawaii was pretty comfortable, Paul and I were able to sit by each other in an exit row so we had lots of leg room. Plus we had an extra seat next to us so we told Erica to come back and sit by us. The Larsen's made it to Hawaii before us so they grabbed our luggage and hung out at their friends house. Once we arrived we grabbed dinner at Nico's on the pier, picked up Rachele and Jordan and then made our way to the beach house we rented on the North Shore.
The next morning the boys went surfing and the girls went running. I would enjoy running so much more if I could always do it in Hawaii, so beautiful! Then we all headed to Log Cabin's beach so the boys could surf some more and we could lay out and read our books.
But then it started raining, so we layed under towels. And then it really started raining and we were getting soaked. We went back to the house, changed and went to Haleiwa for lunch.
We got sandwiches at Storto's, they were so good and the secret was getting the papaya seed dressing on the sandwich.
We moved next door to Aoki's to get some shaved ice, I think the passion fruit flavor was my favorite.
After lunch we made our way to Costco to get food for the week. And then we came home relaxed and the boys made us this delicious meal. I was in heaven with all the fresh, ripe fruit. I ate so many papaya's, mango's and pineapple, I wish the fruit at home tasted as good as it did in Hawaii.
