On Saturday we met up with Jordan and Rachele's friend Brett. He owns an adventure shop that rents out all sorts of beach equipment and activities. He brought kayaks and a paddle board for us to use. We went to Kawela Bay, Jordan calls it a private beach, it isn't but not many people go to it and it's kind of hidden away. You park on the side of the road and there is a little opening in the fence you go through and then walk through a bunch of trees before getting to it.
These little guys were all over the beach. I didn't notice them at first and took me a few minutes to spot them once Paul pointed them out but once I did see them, they were everywhere.
Paul trying out the paddle board. I was too big of a wuss to try it. Something about being out on the ocean all by myself makes me really nervous but now I regret that I didn't do it.
We took out the kayaks and tried to catch some waves but it was really hard to maneuver the kayak into the right place, it was still fun and I was surprised how steady they are even when you are getting tossed around by the waves.
After the beach we went back to Haleiwa to do some shopping at the surf shop. I found some shoes, sandals and shirts that I liked but couldn't bring myself to pay for them.
We then went home to relax and get packed up. I can't remember if it was this night or another night but Rachele decided to brush her curly hair. It took her at least 20 minutes and I wish I would have taken a picture but it was one of the funniest things I have every seen. Oh and the boys rode bikes back to Ted's to get us some dessert. It was a great night with great friends.
